[WOTC] Anthro Cosmetics Redux

Description
This mod is a rework of [WOTC] Anthro Cosmetics by Cobalt Owl. Visit the original mod for in-game screenshots!

Just like the original, this mod adds cosmetic body parts that make soldiers look like anthropomorphic animals.
  • Available species for soldiers: Tiger, Leopard, Cheetah, Wolf, Fox, Hyena.
  • Available species for faction heroes: Rat.
  • Anthro heads are available as faces under Race 0.
  • Anthro arms are not added separately. Whenever you select an Anthro head, the mod will automatically update skin material on any arms that have exposed skin visible. This feature may or may not work for mod-added arms.
  • Anthro legs are available for all base game armors.
  • Anthro tails are available in Thighs, Shins and Torso Deco slots for all armors.
  • The mod also adds some Facepaints and Tattoos that go well with anthro heads.
  • Additionally, the mod includes a character pool file with anthro uniforms that can be used by [WOTC] Iridar's Appearance Manager. One uniform per species per gender, 18 in total. Each uniform is set up for the three basic armor tiers: kevlar, plated and powered.

REQUIREMENTS

COMPANION MODS
  • [WOTC] Iridar's Appearance Manager - required if you'd like to take advantage of the character pool file with anthro uniforms. Lets you "convert" any regular soldier into an anthro with a few clicks. An "Anthro Uniform" preset is added for your convenience.
  • [WOTC] Clean Soldier Generation - prevents soldiers from being generated with mod-added body parts, including anthro or invisible body parts.
  • WotC Customize Soldier Size - more customization for your anthro soldiers. Known issue: anthro tails tend do drift vertically and look awkward if you change soldier size too much.

MORE ANTHRO COSMETICS

FAQ

Q: Are you going to do more anthro species?
A: No, I do not make cosmetic mods.

Q: How to change fur color?
A: Change skin color under head customization options. No, you cannot color different body parts separately.

Q: Is it possible for the mod to automatically replace the skin material on torso and legs, like it does for arms?
A: No, I already tried doing that before releasing the mod.

Q: Why are rat cosmetics are available only to faction heroes, and other anthro cosmetics only to regular soldiers?
A: They don't have anthro legs that would fit the torso armor available to them.

Q: I don't like <insert feature> of this mod, the original mod did not have this problem!
A: Then use the original mod.

KNOWN ISSUES

Small cosmetic issue: whenever you replace an anthro head with a human head, the exposed skin material on arms will look incorrect until the character's appearance is loaded the next time.

When using old Unrestricted Customization, the tail props will appear only in one of the cosmetic slots. Use Unrestricted Customization Redux instead.

Differences from the original mod
  • Fixed the freeze spike when anthro cosmetics were appearing on the screen for the first time each game start.
  • Assets are now cooked, optimizing mod size and loading times.
  • All body parts are now properly named and are marked by an icon.
  • All anthro legs are now consistently tied to kevlar/plated/powered armor they fit with.
  • All tails are now consistently available as Thigh, Shin and Torso Deco cosmetics for all armors.
  • All anthro heads now have whiskers.
  • Anthro Arms have been removed. Instead, the mod will automatically replace the skin material of any arms that have exposed skin visible.
  • All rat cosmetics are now available to all faction heroes, not just Reapers. Anthro cosmetics are now available only to regular soldiers.

I'd love to make all anthro cosmetics available to both soldiers and faction heroes, but there are no rat legs that would fit regular soldier armor, and there are no anthro paws legs that would fit faction hero armor.

This mod does not contain any new body parts, it just fixes and rearranges the ones set up by Cobalt Owl for the original mod. Ideally this should have been an update to the original mod, and not a separate upload, but the author wouldn't reply to my attempts to communicate. Please go give a thumbs up to the original mod!

COOKED ASSETS

Thanks to Xymanek, this mod's packages are cooked to reduce their size and improve loading times. However, Unreal Editor is unable to open cooked packages, so if for whatever reason you need to inspect this mod's packages, you can find the uncooked version of the mod on GitHub[github.com].

I've run into a strange issue with the mod, tails on female characters are all light blue, no matter the skin color. Is there any potential way to fix this or is my game cursed?

@Dobbydoggo
You need to use the Redux version of Unrestricted Customization.

hey, Is there a way to enable this on the specialization classes (templar, reaper, skirmisher) Cause atm the only thing that appears for them is the rat cosmetics, and I'm trying to figure out how to change it if there's a way

@Cryt84
It is technically possible, but I don't have the skills nor the time to make it so. Certainly nothing you can do on your end about it.

Sorry for the question, i have searched all the forum and can´t find an answer.
Is it possible to give the soldiers "facial animations"? I´m not complaining, the mod is awesome, but i feel weird that the soldiers have a "neutral face" permanently when they shoot, get hurt, die etc... Maybe you already answer that or i screwed the game, but i can´t find a solution. Tks for the mods you´ve made btw, they´re awesome.
