Introduction

You want to get rich in Cozy Grove, don't we now. Good news! I've created this guide specially for you to help you out! I've spend too much time on the wiki to combine their information with this guide to make sure you'll get the best information possible!

Shout out to the Discord and the Wiki[cozygrove.fandom.com] for all their usefull information. Without these two sources, this guide wouldn't have been made possible!

There is a TLDR at the bottom of the guide

Materials
Before even starting to dive into money making schemes, let's get the basics down first!
Flamey will be our new best friend, doing all the prep work for us! Before we start crafting and cooking, we have to get some materials ready.

One has to note that burning items will increase its worth. For example Fish rarely sell for a lot. Most fish prices are around 50 coins, with exceptions ofcourse. Even relics which can be sold for a nice price, give way more coins when turned into relic ash.

Cooking

I will be describing the 3 most profitable and easy recipe for you. In my opinion saving extra produce (for example having 3 Fruit Jams left over) until you have another harvest ready and doing the chain again, is most profitable. We gotta squize these products for all they are worth.

Note
Its more profitable to sell the Vegetable Broth and Mushroom Tofu like that instead of cooking that once more into Tamari and Fancy Broth seeing as it takes 20 to make and the price isn't there to justify it. Shout out to ryba ryrys for pointing this out

Crafting: 1 Ingredient Recipe

Did I work my way through all crafting recipes to try and find the most profitable ones? Yes!
We take this moment to appriciate the Wiki for this information.

For this part I will be focussing on the most easy and profitable recipes. Since you can't predict when you'll get this recipe, I've put down multiple options for you to chose from. I've tried to avoid wood ingredients as much as possible since I prefer to put those flowers and fish to work for profit.

Note! With every recipe you have common, uncommon, ect. versions. In this guide I will be stating just the crafting cost for the common ones. The more rare varients ofcourse give more money, but are also harder to craft. The goal is to use the least amount of ingredients to get the most amount of profits.

Recycling
You can recycle Quartz Gemstones into coins. One Quartz will give you 200
999 Quartz will give you 599,400

Just make sure to always keep a stack of Quartz in the back for endgame reasons ;)

Personally I sold the first quartz I found in the very beginning of a new run to quickly earn money to buy trees. It's insane how fast you'll be set up and able to upgrade all thats needed. Once I had a nice set up, I started to save it more for decorations.

The more experienced user löyly then me writes in their guide the following about recycling Quartz:

Originally posted by löyly:
"You could recycle quartz for coins once you get access to it through Francesca (Tree Bear), but I would never. Quartz is a limited resource that you need for buying animals and furniture. You may think you get plenty, but supply is going to slow down. If you don't care about pretty decorations then you can recycle most of your quartz. You're going to need some for story quests later in the game, though, so keep that in mind.

UPDATE: Quartz has become more plentiful and I have now, in fact, recycled some for coins in new saves to quickly upgrade Kit's shop and get more tent storage. After that I still keep it around, because some of those high-tier decorations that I might really like can be VERY expensive and waiting for the recipe or even a lower-tier version for sale could take ages. If you don't care that much about decorating, keeping one full stack will probably be enough for most purposes."
Shells I
There are two different ways to make cash with shells. You can sell them as they are, or you can turn them into Shell Models at Octavia. Sadly turning them into models does not increase the profit and devalues them. You pay to have them turned into a model, the rarer the shell the more expensive its model is. For example I turned a legendary shell into a model for 10,000 coins and could only sell it for 480 coins. So I recommend to not turn your shells into models for profit.

Here are the shells and how much they sell for.

What to keep & what to sell
Here is information on what to sell and what to keep that I've found in a pinned message in the official Cozy Grove Discord. I thought this would be usefull to know. Credit goes to Gennysis66

Cozy grove storage
  • Fruit: You only need the in season fruits and berries. Plus extra berries to hand in for some quests.

  • Roots/mush: Keep 10 of each

  • Fish: Pick one rare and Legendary fish to keep a stack of (you only need 3 legendary for a quest). Common and uncommon are easy to find for quests and only requested in small numbers. Burn everything else. For the DLC you need to keep 4 legendary fish.

  • Fish bones: Keep a small stack if you have space, for when tools break.

  • Bugs: Sell all - only commons are ever requested

  • Ore: Burn all but the large ones. They stack better that way. There is one request for 5 medium ores from Ted much later in the game

  • Woods: Up to you, but more than 100, less than 400of each is popular. You’ll never need 400 in one go, unless you are bulk crafting. 200 is a more logical number. Sell the rest.

  • Gems: These stack to 999. Just keep 1 stack. You need 250 for a late game quest. Convert the rest to semi precious to save room and for furniture.

  • Shells: Pick 1 common, uncommon and rare to keep a stack of. Sell the rest or turn into models

  • Roasted fruit: Keep 50 for recipes

  • Roast root/mush: Keep 50 for recipes

  • Jam: Keep some if you have space, but it’s best turned into tincture as your main source of money.

  • Tofu/Veg broth: Needed occasionally. Keep a stack and sell the rest.

  • Relics: Early on burn all. Later burn common, uncommon. Keep the rest, they stack better that way. There really isn’t much need for lots of relic ash aside from one quest. So just keep it for crafting.

  • Foods: When given by bears store if possible for pet requests. Don’t make these in advance. The master ones are almost never requested.

  • Greens: Keep one stack of each. Upgrade the rest and sell extra purples.

  • Eggs: I keep below 3 stacks and turn the rest to white eggs. When I would end up with 13 white I upgrade to a devilled egg. These are only request like twice. So feel free to sell if you need space

  • Cocoa/salt: Keep a stack (30 for salt). Can use cocoa for raw food quests.

  • Bonbons: Just 1 stack (if you use the chain technique you will never need more than 20)

  • Nuts: Same as fruits. 10 of each if desired, but keep a stack of the in season nuts (I don’t believe nuts are seasonally specific) Multiple stacks of preferably one sort are fine(usually the one you got lots of trees for when you started). Nuts can be handed in for raw ingredient requests and nut flour for processed ingredient quests.

  • Onions: You don’t really need a lot of these. Keep one stack definitely. I keep 5 stacks as I have room and sell the rest as they are good money.

  • Essences: Keep

  • Amber/pearls: Currently just for collection and selling. May have more purpose later. Keep a stack of desired.

  • Pigment: Keep a stack for quests. Just make more as needed for crafting. There are some great high rarity lamps that just want pigment.

  • Flowers: Don’t keep. Literally only one quest asks for them.

  • Anglers regret/map: Keep till you have enough to combine.

But this is just a rough guide. You are free to keep, burn and sell as you please.

TLDR
Don't want to go through the guide and just want to see the highlights? Here you go!

  • The best way to make money in Cozy Grove is via Fruit Trees! Use the fruit to make Roasted Fruit, cook that into Fruit Jam and cook that into Fruit Tincture. This sells for 24,000 per Tincture.

  • Roasting Mushrooms and cooking them into Mushroom Tofu, sells for 2,880 per Tofu

  • Roasting Root Vegetables and cooking them into Vegetable Broth, sells for 2,500 per Broth

  • Any crafting recipe using just 4 Charred Fishbone will sell for 2,000

  • Any crafting recipe using just 2 Tin of Flower Pigment and 4 Charred Fishbone will sell for 2,000

  • Any crafting recipe using just 1 Tin of Flower Pigment and 8 Charred Fishbone will sell for 5,000

  • Donating to Captain Snout's Collection is a nice way to earn some extra coins.

  • You could recycle Quartz into coins, however its not recommended since its a limited resource

  • Its more profitable to sells shells as they are then to turn them into models

Enjoy your wealth!
I hope this guide was able to help you!

If you happen to have found another way to make money, but it isn't in this guide? Feel free to comment it down below and I'll make sure to add it (with credit) to this guide. Together we shall roll in money.

Omg thank you so much for your comment and linking of my guide @löyly!! Absolutely made my day. I've updated the guide with the new information right away :conhappy:

Hey, thanks for quoting and crediting my guide! That was written before several updates that made for a much better quartz supply though, I can cautiously recommend recycling some now.

I just added a link to this guide in my "economy" section btw :flamey_happy:

I find the Common ... Sculptures sell for a good price. I got the recipe for Common Log Cabin
Large Sculpture and it turns 8 branches and 3 charred fishbones into 6,000 coins. And of course, the Fruit Tincture is the easiest, turning 25 fruits into 24,000 coins.

You can also get money by recycling quartz with Francesca. Each quartz piece is worth 600 coins. I would also recommend selling recipe foods, flowers and fruits (I have been playing for 3 months and I have like a hundred trees and flowers).

I was able to get 1,000,000 coins just from recycling quartz with Francesca. To get more quartz, just recycle Precious gems (I usually store 10 and recycle the rest).

Note: Every time you complete a badge you may get coins, precious gems or quartz. It depends on the tier of the badge.

Damn, that "sell for coins" description for the models are a scam then HAHA, thanks so much!
Plu  [author] 24 Feb, 2022 @ 1:43pm
Hi Thalia! I did some research (and sold some of my own models) and it turns out, they sell for so much less then it takes to make them! A legendary shell i turned into a model for 10k only sold for 480 coins. So definatly not worth the cost it takes to make one.
I now also added in the guide what all shells sell for and also put this information there to clear that up. Hope that helps!
