[B41] Occupied Louisville (320+ Spawn Points!)

Description
Occupied Louisville 1.2 has now been released (13th Feb 2022). A rewrite of this Workshop item description is pending.

In the hope of making the release less disruptive for anyone using this in multiplayer, an unmodified legacy version of Occupied Louisville 1.1 is still included.

Occupied Louisville 1.1
Unique Spawnpoints for Individual Occupations

This mod makes Louisville a selectable starting region, and currently features 218 unique spawn points for the default occupations (including unemployed), with a minimum of at least eight spawn points provided for each one, for an average of ten.

The majority of spawn locations selected for this mod are places of work, stores, or other points of interest that are strongly (or weakly) related to your chosen profession. This mod includes relatively few of the generic 'starter' homes that would usually be the standard with Project Zomboid's default spawn points for other regions.

Although every effort has been made to make each spawn point tell a unique story, some occupations may spawn in different parts of large structures, and certain buildings are re-used for multiple different occupations.

Not all of the spawn points chosen for this mod are fair, and some spawn points are noticeably less fair than others. You'll find that this particularly applies if you're unemployed.

(Primarily designed for a varied singleplayer experience. These spawnpoints will work in multiplayer, though aren't fairly balanced against one another, meaning they might be unsuitable for servers with large numbers of players.)

Spawn Summary
Unfortunately, due to character limits, the spawn points can't all be listed here. A discussion thread with helpful or cryptic descriptions for all the co-ordinates will be posted eventually.

The summaries below describe some of the themes and trends for different Occupations, but all have their exceptions.

  • Unemployed (26) - An especially varied assortment of starts. Everything from low-standard living to no-standards living; out for a good time, or just at the wrong place at the wrong time - or just one of the ever-humbling "sorry, it's Occupied" Louisville spawning experiences
  • Fire Officer (8) - Three fire departments, and one inflammatory incident brought under control
  • Police Officer (10) - Police departments across the region, and the immense Louisville Police Department and Detention Services building complex
  • Park Ranger (10) - In, around, and neighbouring the Louisville park, or just the place you hang your hat
  • Construction Worker (8) - Construction sites and fix-'er-uppers all across Louisville
  • Security Guard (18) - Businesses, institutions and checkpoints throughout Louisville depend on you to preserve their perimeter integrity - now more than ever. Banks and broadcasters, galleries and gas companies, malls and manufacturers, campuses and convention centres, distilleries and detention services, hospitals, art galleries, oh my!
  • Carpenter (8) - Partial projects, with some assembly required
  • Burglar (10) - Home invasion, bank infiltration, jewellery liberation, art appreciation, police interrogation, and jail yard exfiltration
  • Chef (9) - Face down the dinner rush from the kitchens of high-class eateries and roadside diners, mall sushi kitchens, and more
  • Repairman (10) - Residential, commercial, industrial, or academic, it's no matter. Wherever something breaks, someone has to fix it
  • Farmer (9) - A routine visit to the garden centre, a farm all of your own, or perhaps just a small garden plot and a big dream
  • Fisherman (8) - There's opportunities a-plenty for a good catch in Louisville, if you know where you're going
  • Doctor (8) - An even split of spawns dotted throughout St Peregrin's Hospital and Louisville General Hospital
  • Veteran (10) - Drinking to forget, making a scene at the hunting supplies store, or just facing another day alone in the retirement home your ungrateful descendants dumped you in
  • Nurse (10) - Unlucky enough to be on duty at St Peregrin's or Louisville General, or just on (or off) the clock at one of Louisville's smaller pharmacies and clinics?
  • Lumberjack (8) - Maybe it's hard to make out the woods through all this concrete and tarmac, but that's no reason not to settle in Louisville, or accept that senior position at Louisville Bruiser Lumber
  • Fitness Instructor (8) - Campus athletics and community aerobics, boxing rings and workout routines. Push it to the limit
  • Burger Flipper (8) - Spiffo's here, Spiffo's there, Spiffo's just about everywhere... With a couple of additional surprises
  • Electrician (8) - Home appliances, the energy industry - or just fumbling around in a utility room looking for the fusebox
  • Engineer (8) - An executive office, or a train yard shed; big oil, big designs, big industry, or just a walk down to the store to pick up some tools
  • Metalworker (8) - Forges, factories, and construction sites
  • Mechanic (8) - Autoshops and garages. No obstacles, no excuses - just a workshop of your own, and a dead city full of cars to claim

You can find the list of spawn points introduced in initial release 1.0 and their coordinates in this Pastebin[pastebin.com] (contains some coordinate errors).

To maintain a sense of mystery, some descriptions are left deliberately vague.

Issues/Suggestions

These spawn points haven't all been extensively tested, so if you discover any issues, let me know in the comments below.

If you know an interesting or appropriate location in Louisville that you think deserves to be in this mod, let me know in the comments below (preferably with cell/position coordinates, and a description of which occupation(s) you feel it works for), so it can be considered for the future.

For this step on the server:
4. Add { name = "Louisville, KY", file = "media/maps/OccupiedLouisvilleKY/spawnpoints.lua" }, to your server's SpawnRegions.lua

After adding the map, it automatically generates this but with "OccupiedLouisvilleKY". Do I add an additional entry then? As both point to the same file.

Thank you so much! Happy holidays!

If I do an updated Occupied Louisville for Build B42, I'll probably do it by re-picking the spawn points from scratch, to take advantage of new z-level geography (and because I didn't keep note of which spawn points were which in the first place).

Also, no more bus stops in the main spawn-list (they deserve their own), and things of that nature.

If I do end up doing it, I'd probably upload it as its own mod.

That'd all have to wait at least until after an updated map of B42 unstable with co-ordinates is made available online though.

Any ideas to Build 42?
If you will work on it when you're available, will the update be posted here or on a new page?

I'd love a version of this that has zero bus stop spawns, instant quit to menu when I see I spawn in one of those.
