Paperclips Lockpicking [b41/b42]

Description
After playing for quite a while on a private server. We tried the two most famous lockpicking mods available here. A friend of mine playing burglar mentioned that regarding the complexity of those, it was always better to open/break a window or make the fighter of the group chop down the door.

We remembered an old mod that allowed us to do lockpicking directly using paperclips without the hassle of converting them into lockpicks or whatsoever mini games to complete neither specific skill to manage. So I recreated something similar.

Currently features
  • Burglars or character with a -2 trait can pick locks using paperclips
  • Random locks on doors with different chances of success
  • 86%, 72%, 58%, 58% or 30% chance of success
  • Paperclip is lost on failure

Future plans
  • Allow for lockpicking of car doors
  • Adjust randomness to door type (make security doors/garage doors harder)

Working on this mod led us to create the following mod:
We now have a way for all occupations to have signature moves and evolve in a more balanced system for skills and traits!

The publishing of this paperclips lockpick mod was mostly done for our own purpose but had to publish it for easier server configuration. So I don’t think I will take suggestions for it.

Does not work in b42.8.1. I have a paperclip, I have an option to "unlock door" but when I click it nothing happens.

I don't get it, I have paperclips in my main inventory, but when I right click on a door there is no option to lockpick. Thing is I can't see the type of door since its pointing north east and is therefore blackend out. Sounds like a metal door though. Would that be unpickable?

@tinytea Thanks for the kind words! Updating "Occupations Expertises & Balance" to b42 is another beast of a task to tackle but it's on its way too :)

oooo, thanks for porting this mod to B42 Onkeen. Now, we patiently wait for the port of the greatest Trait mod to B42: "Occupations Expertises & Balance", which also has the paperclip lockpicking for the Burglar occupation. Unfortunately some might decide to no longer use this mod after the Occupations mod is ported because the burglar class there already allows for lockpicking. OR we might KEEP using this mod since it allows non-burglar professions to lockpick too. Either way, Onkeen, papybat, and dendenmushi are killing it :DoubleExclamation: :cta_emo2:

Updated for b42! It just works like in b41, no changes. When I have time to spare on mod updates, I tend to work on Occupations Expertises which includes part of this mod and still needs conversion to b42. If stuff happen there to the burglar par, I'll update here accordingly!
