Joining a Team
Joining a Summer Adventure team gives you the opportunity to win prizes based on your teams performance. 30 people from the winning team at the end of each day will win three games from their wishlist. Additionally every member of the winning team who contributed points towards the team win will earn bonus Summer Adventure trading cards.

You'll be randomly assigned a team once you select the "Get Started" button from the Summer Adventure webpage. The notification will let you know which team you're on. You'll also get an icon on your Steam profile letting others know which team you're on.

Earning points for your team can be done by crafting badges during the summer sale. Each type of badge gives your team a different amount of points towards your team total. For example foil badges are worth more than their normal counterparts.

  • Summer Adventure Badge - 10 points
  • Summer Adventure Foil Badge - 100 points
  • any other game badge - 1 point
  • any foil game badge - 10 points

Crafting a Summer Adventure trading card deck will give you the rare chance of finding a team token. Team tokens allow you to switch teams when used. There's also a rare chance to find a token which allows you to steal points from another team, and another to significantly boost your points.
Obtaining Summer Sale Trading Cards
Summer Adventure trading cards can be obtained several ways. If you have crafted a game badge recently prior to the sale you will have received a numbered Mysterious Trading card for an uncraftable deck. These cards can now be used used towards the Summer Adventure badge.

Additional Summer Adventure cards can be obtained the following ways:

Crafting the Badge
Once you've collected every card in the Summer Adventure deck, you can then craft them into a badge to display on your Steam Profile. Crafting the Summer Adventure badge will also earn you an exclusive emoticon, background, team points and a random in-game item only available from the Summer Adventure cards. It will also earn you additional experience towards your Steam level.

To access the Summer Adventure badge page, click here.

This page will display your progress towards the badge. Cards which are greyed out are ones you need, and the ones which are lit up you currently own.

If you've been making purchases during the Summer Sale you can view your status towards your next card by clicking on the How Do I Earn More Card Drops? link at the top of the page. This will bring up a progress bar letting you know how much more you need to spend on the Steam Store before you'll receive another Summer Adventure trading card.

Near the bottom of the page you can view who on your friends list has completed at least one level of the badge.

You can also see who on your friends list owns the cards you're missing. Selecting the buttons next to their names will allow you to send them a chat message or a trade offer. It will also provide you a link to the Steam Community Market page for the card.

Once you've collected every card in the deck the Craft Badge button will light up near the top of the page. Crafting the badge will consume the cards you collected.

Once the crafting is complete it will display the results of your craft. The items you've earned will be placed into your inventory.

Unlike other badges you're able to craft the Summer Adventure badge as many times as you'd like. Certain milestone levels will give your badge a different look. You'll receive additional rewards and experience each time you craft it regardless of the level.

Foil Badge
Everytime you receive a Summer Adventure trading card you have a chance of getting a rare foil card instead. By collecting all ten foil cards you're able to craft the special foil badge. Unlike regular foil cards you can craft the foil badge as many times as you like. The foil badge is completely separate from the standard variant.

If you're in possession of a foil card the deck will appear on your badge progress page.

Crafting a foil badge will reward you with five random exclusive in-game items per craft instead of one. The appearance of the badge will also change based on how many times you've crafted it.

Using the Rewards
To use a profile background you earned by crafting a Summer Adventure badge visit your Steam Profile and click on the "Edit Profile" button.

Click on the "Select Background" button to make your selection.

When you're done choosing your background click on the Save Changes button located at the bottom of the page. When it's done saving your new background will be displayed on your Steam Profile.

When you craft a Summer Adventure badge you'll also get a chat emoticon. These are small, themed images which can be inserted in Steam chat, discussions and more. You don't have to do anything to equip emoticons, they will instantly be added to the emoticon list. Click on the smiley face icon located on Steam chat windows and discussions to make use of them.

"Once you reach Steam Level 8, you'll get a card every 3rd time you vote for the Community's Choice Flash Sale and you'll be granted the cards for your previous votes."
