Thank you for stopping by, this is a guide on how to complete my Escape Room: The Sleeping Lion Tavern. This guide will cover the basics on how to complete the map but there's much more to the map than just the main puzzles!

Access to Room #2
To gain access to Room #2 you will need to pay 5 gold coins at the Barkeep's table where the small chest with the red rug is.

Coin #1
Hint:The note inside the cupboards behind the Barkeep indicate that the 2nd cupboard has a coin in it. Is there a way you could break into it?
Solution: Use the axe found in the wall at the back of the Tavern.

Coin #2
Hint:With the Tavern owner gone, some patrons don't have drinks with their meals.
Solution:Place the 4 empty pickable mugs under the tap of the beer barrels behind the Barkeep table, place each of the full mugs next to a bowl that doesn't have a mug already.


Coin #3
Hint:Looks like some people are playing Poker in the middle of the room, you'll need to find a better hand than Quad Aces.
Solution:You're looking for a Heart Royal Flush, one of the cards is located in the rightmost cupboard behind the Barkeep table. Another is inside Room #1, on the ground by the door, the key for the room is above the key rack. The last card is on the top of the shelf next to Room #3.

Coin #4
Hint:The round board at the back of the Tavern on the wall looks like a dart board.
Solution:Throw the 3 knives on the barrel towards the board on the wall.

Coin #5
Hint:The rug in the corner of the room on the wall looks suspicious, maybe you can get rid of it somehow.
Solution:Grab the candle on the shelf that was in front of the rug, use the candle on the only lit candle in the room next to Room #5. Place the lit candle on the bottom of the rug.

Hint:That fence should be easily knocked down if you hit it.
Solution:Use the axe on the fence.

Hint:You'll need some leverage to open the coffin.
Solution:Use the shovel and stone found in the secret room.
Room #2
Hint:The wall in Room #2 looks like it's been repaired.
Solution:Pull the shelf forward and walk towards the wall.

Hint:You might be able to break down the wall somehow.
Solution:Use the axe on the wall.

Hint:The axe wasn't very effective, maybe something bigger or sturdier could help.
Solution:Pull the shelf forward until it locks into place, walk behind the shelf.

Room #3
Room Key #4
Hint:The next room key is hidden somewhere inside the room, better search high and low.
Solution:The key is located in the bucket in the corner, under the rags.

Cauldron Puzzle
Hint:5 potions need to be placed in the correct order, the eyeball in the cauldron will point you in the right direction.
Solution:The 5 eyeballs in the secret room have different colours, from left to right, blue, orange, green, red and cyan.

Orange Potion:In Room #1, on the shelf on the right at the back.
Red Potion:In the secret room, in the tree trunk next to the grave.
Cyan Potion:In the chest in Room #2, the key is underneath the pillow.
Green Potion:In Room #3, next to the cauldron in the wooden toolbox.
Blue Potion:
Hint:The potion is on a high shelf, you may need something soft to break its landing.
Solution:Click on the shelf to get the prompt, place the pillow found in Room #3 underneath the Blue Potion, click on the shelf again.

Small Crate Puzzle
Hint:The note in the right hand, next to the small crate has some clues to what you need.
Solution:You will need the logs in the firepit from Room #2, The lit candle on a stick in Room #2 and dried grass from the Secret Room next to the skull, under the grave. Place them all on the firepit in Room #3 and place the small crate on top of that.
Room #4
Fireball Puzzle
Hint:You'll need the magic hat, spellbook and skulls in the correct position to create the fireball.
Solution:The magic hat is on the ground, behind the table, place it on the hat rack. The spellbook is on the ground next to the crates, place this on the book rack, press the book after it opens. The hint "look away" refers to thes skulls, turn the skulls to face away from the golden orb.

Picture Frame Puzzle
Hint:The wooden boards look they have been nailed in on the sides.
Solution:Use the pliers found on the shelf to remove the nails in the boards.

Hint:The torches on either side of the picture frame have been put out.
Solution:Throw the fireball at the torches to light them.

Room Key #5
Hint:The note next to the skeleton should help you in turning all the torches on, press the crystal ball to douse the torches.
Solution:Press the torches in a LOOP, doesn't matter where you start, ensure the torches have been reset and press all the outside torches one after another.
Room #5
Opening Chest
Hint:The book on the table will point you in the right direction on what to look for.
Solution:Follow the spiders on the wall, use the dagger on the ceiling to pick the lock on the chest.

Obtaining Blue Orb
Crafting a Sword
Hint:The handle is located on top of the chandelier, how will you get it down?
Solution:Break the chain with the axe.

Hint:You'll need to craft a sword blade to go with the handle you've acquired.
Solution:Following the prompts from opening the chest, find the secret stash under the barrels and rug, place the iron bar on the anvil, hit it with a hammer and place the blade and handle on the table. Use the sword on the wheel behind the painting to stop it.
Last Puzzle
Obtaining all 5 Orbs
Secret Room:Yellow Orb,located in the skull eye socket.
Room #3:Red Orb,obtained after completing the Small Crate Puzzle.
Room #3:Green Orb,obtained after completing the Cauldron Puzzle.
Room #4:White Orb,obtained after completing the Picture Frame Puzzle.
Room #5:Blue Orbobtained after completing the Sword Puzzle.

Hint:The coloured orbs need to be placed in the correct order on the front door, have you seen those orbs in the Tavern somewhere?
Solution:The correct order are the Room numbers with their coloured keys/key slots. Yellow, Red, White, Blue, Green.

Defeating the Dragon
Hint:Your regular weapons don't damage it, is there something that does?
Solution:The electric dagger can damage the dragon, you'll need to electrify all your weapons.

Electrifying Weapons
Hint:The magician had been experimenting with electricity however 2 of the glass spheres are missing.
Solution:One of the spheres is in Room #4 above the shelves, use the fireball to get it down. The other is in the chest in Room #5, use the dagger in the ceiling to pick the lock.
Hint: These spheres are still empty, you'll need to capture some electricity, where have you seen that before?
Solution: The Seret Room has 2 pillars with electricity atop, place both spheres on them and then onto the golden goblets in Room #4. Electrify all your weapons and attack the dragon with them.

Hint:There should be 4 weapons, a dagger, an axe, a sword and something else, something mightier than a sword.
Solution:Electrify the pen in Room #2, use it in the eye of the dragon.
Basement
Unlocking Basement Door
Hint:There is a key on the ground as you walk down into the basement.
Hint:Oh, well now you'll have to find a way to retrieve it from the mouse.
Hint:What could you trade with the mouse for the key?
Solution:You're going to have to make some cheese for they key thief.

Making Cheese
Hint:The steps on how to make cheese are on the blackboard, you'll just have to find all the ingredients.
Solution:The cream can be found on the crate under the stairs. The citric acid is found on the shelf with all the other flasks. The coagulant is on the bottom shelf with the other bowls.

Hint:You'll now need something to drain the liquids, a container of some sorts.
Solution:The now empty container of heavy cream should do the trick.

Searching the Locked Room
Hint:There is something strange inside the room, you'll have to search high and low to find it.
Solution:On the ceiling in the middle of the room is a strange crystal.

Hint:The strange crystal is just out of reach, you'll need something to stand on.
Solution:The crate under stairs can be dragged under the strange crystal, you'll just have to remove the heavy items off of it first.
Cavern
Getting Past the Fire
Hint:You'll need something to extinguish the fire.
Hint:Water should be able to douse the flames but you'll need a container and source of water.
Solution:Where the green grass is growing you'll notice dripping water, place the bucket down there AFTER you have walked into the fire once.

Getting Past the Shadow Hands
Hint:It seems the Shadow Hands enjoy munching down on human flesh, maybe their appetite can be used against them?
Solution:Feed the Shadow Hands the poisonous mushroom.

Getting Past the Wizard
Hint:The Wizard's magic is quite dangerous, their weapon is their staff, you'll need a weapon of your own.
Hint:The strange handle on the rocks near the skeleton is quite.... strange, remind you of anything strange?
Solution:Combing the strange crystal with the strange handle and enjoy your strange new weapon, test it out on the Wizard.

Getting Out of the Cavern
Hint:Perhaps you could fashion some stairs out of the rock face? You'll just need something to carve the rocks.
Hint:Okay let's try something a bit simpler, how about a ladder? We'll need wood and something to bind them together.
Solution:The Wizard so graciously left behind some of their intestines to wrap the wooden planks found at the beginning of the Cavern.
Outside Area
Obtaining the Key and Stone from the Eagle
Hint:The eagle won't hand over its spoils without compensation.
Solution:Speaking to the fisherman by the water will end with you obtaining a fish to give to the eagle.

Unlocking the Gate
Hint:Have you tried using the key from the eagle yet? Oh you have, maybe the skipping stone you also got can be used somewhere.
Solution:Throw the skipping stone in the ocean and enjoy the show.

Obtaining Logs for the Traveller
Hint:You'll need an axe first, completeing the Unlocking the Gate puzzle is essential.
Hint:Your fists aren't hard enough to break the glass, something ROCK hard.
Solution:There's a stone near the cannonball, throw that bad boy at the glass. The log near the Traveller will provide you with all the wood you need and more.

Obtaining Medical Supplies for the Stranger
Hint:Completing the Unlocking the Gate puzzle will reveal a medical box floating in the ocean, now how can you bring that box within reach?
Hint:The rope that washed ashore is one part of the puzzle to making what you need.
Solution:After completeing the Traveller's puzzle will grant you a strange artifact, combine that with the rope will create a Hook on a Rope, give that a toss in the ocean. Give the contents of the box to the traveller to "fix" their wound.

Obtaining an Arrow for the Archer
Solution:Complete the Stranger's puzzle to retrieve the arrow stuck in their head.
Hint:You'll now have to find some access into the attic, maybe there's an open window somewhere.
Hint:Behind the broken gates is an open window high up out of reach, is there a way to gain access through there?
Solution:Throw your Hook on a Rope upwards towards the attic window.
Attic
Gaining Access Back to the Tavern
Hint:A hidden entrance is not so hidden inside the attic.
Hint:You'll need something to enter the Tavern safely, there's only about 3 other things to press in the attic, take your pick.
Solution:Click on the ladder :)

- Had to replace lanterns with torches as they were causing issues loading in. Removed Read Me sign, opening it caused a frozen screen.

- Made some small changes to puzzles to make them easier and less confusing.

- Made a lot of changes to the puzzles to make them more noticeable and easier to follow, so you spend less time finding the puzzle and more time solving it.
- Implemented "character thoughts" as a hint system to steer players in the right direction.

- Added Hidden Runes to collect for the achievement hunters out there and to reward players for exploring every inch of the map, there are 10 to collect! See your progress to the left of the front door on the crate.
- Added Rune Markers on top of door frames to let you know if you've collected all the Runes in that room, be careful, you can lock yourself out of collecting some! (Thank you Steam User: deki)
- Locked Runes can now be collected at the end of the room by talking to some of the patrons.
- Implemented NPC's as floating spheres.
- Added hints to the locked runes to aid all the collectors out there.
- Renamed some items with the new game update.
- Created a guide/walkthrough.
- Removed some items and changed the states of most objects to static to help with the lagging/frame drop in game.
- Added a Teleportation Orb to help players who get stuck in objects.
- Added Lost and Found for objects that get lost through the floor.

This was pretty incredible, considering how old the map was, I'm amazed by how much content there was here! Well done! The experience was unfortunately marred by seemingly not having been updated for a long time as a ton of stuff seemed to be broken. Just off the top of my head, I was told that 1 rune was locked, but I could still get it later on. Another rune was locked as I couldn't physically move to the space where it was, despite the game telling me it was still available. I was also locked out of the fight with the wizard in the cave, as an invisible wall seemed be blocking the path next to the shadow hands, and unable to finish the game fully, which was a major bummer after spending 2-3 hours in it.

I am also having trouble figuring out how to non-violently blind the con artist. I thought putting a bucket over his head like you do in Skyrim might help but he could still see even when he was wearing a bucket.

[Also I can't get past the Wizard in the Cavern - I get stuck when he tries to attack and can't advance toward him before he casts his spell. Is this a glitch?[/spoiler]

I need a hint please. I cannot for the life of me find the "non violent way to blind the gambler" who cheated us out of our coins, that is mentioned by the adventurer next to all the red books. . Thank you!

I'm sorry that happened to you, the physics in the custom maps can sometimes be wonky. I'm glad you had a great time with what you could experience, it certainly was a blast making it.

Had a great time, unfortunately theres no lost and found for the basement room stuff so our axe got stuck in the wall and we could get it so had to stop. Theres no way to go back so it was quite a let down since we were excited to do all the endings. Hoping my partner and I go back around and do it again to get all the endings. Was super fun otherwise! Wonderful map!

It might be a combination of my room having a lot of stuff in it and the lower spec computer causing lag for the other player.

When I had a much slower computer it caused weird issues where I could clip through walls and such.

I thought as much since a disconnect prompt happened twice (fixed itself in seconds both times) while we were playing. I just wish we could fix it without having to relaunch the map if it happens again.The 2nd player also had their graphics turned down due to having a less powerful computer if that's a problem

Thanks, I'll check with the discord if they've seen this issue but it sounds like a desync issue with the game. Since there's actually no way in the editor to make only one person's screen dark.

Yes I hosted and I could see just fine but we couldn't continue when one player couldn't see anything
