Achievements and unlocks are cool and all but can sometimes distract from the main objective in a game, especially if a player is a collector. I had an instance where a few friends did something they shouldn't during a game just becuase of unlocks. I myself did the same because I wanted some camos unlocked. Others do it for achievements.

An extra yes. What is wrong with an extra? I seriously dont understand your point. You say they dont add value, then call them an extra. Extras still add value, no matter how small. They give you more things to do. How can you not see that?

Either way your guide is still outdated and would be nice to see it covering all 26 current Achievements..

It's not only for pvp games but they mainly benefit from it. Also adventure games, games with unique mechanics and story. COOP milsim games focus mainly on the teamplay as a reward, achievements and unlocks in there are just an extra...

Thats a really really weird take to have. Are you saying that only pvp games can have achievements because they are "dull" and "repetitive"?
I honestly dont see why every single game cant have some form of achievements simply because they:
- Give the player extra things to do upon completion of the game, extending its life.
- Create challenges for the player that will (often) make them understand or more proficient at certain game mechanics.
- Provide bragging rights to show off to friends
- Help other people see how much of a game someone has completed just by viewing their achievement list.

I really dont think that the reason above are ONLY applicable to pvp games. I know hundreds of fantastic games that do not fit this genre and still have satisfying achievement lists.
I dont see why RoN cant have a nice long achievement list. The best thing about these lists is that if you dont care about achievements, like it seems you dont, then you dont even have do them!

It's a coop game not battlefield pvp lol. Sure achievements are nice to have but tbh they don't add a value to the game. The real true value is in the gameplay. Whereas games like say cod or bf need achievements (which makes the experience much better and replayable due to dull repetitive pvp) and in RoN you get unpredictability + coop.

The achievements do add some value to the process but aren't essential. The reason why I "protested" with the guide is because there was only one achievement to be made, sure devs tested waters with it but there should of been many right from the start better than just one.

You literally said earlier that you made this guide as a protest for the game itself not having a proper full achievement list...
No I'm confused

What makes you say that? It adds value and extra challenges to the game!
MAVEN  [author] 6 Nov, 2024 @ 2:59am
TBH it doesn't need any achievements :)

Heh fair enough. I really hope this game gets the fixes and love that it deserves.
Its current state is pathetic to be honest.
Also it could easily have 50+ achievements!

I actually made the guide as a gag and a way of protesting a lack of proper achievemnt collection for the game. Never knew it would get so popular xD
