Patch: pre-alpha 0.5.3.2

Hello and welcome to the Draconia 101 map guide!

With the map getting filled more and more with new areas to explore, I want to give you a guiding hand to not get lost to much on the islands of Altuis. For this guide, the focus lies on the first island, which is called "Daziban" or just "Island A" in the community.

We'll take a closer look at some important areas, what makes them special and worth a visit.

Now, without further ado, let's dive into the beauty of this land!

Thanks to Valkair on the Discord, we could create an interactive map on the Fandom Wiki.

Aphtaria Hawa + Area
Home sweet home!
Everybody will be familiar with this place, the very village you first spawn in when entering the game in singleplayer or a server for the first time. Get ready, we have a lot to check out!

Aphtaria Hawa provides the player with everything they need to start with: food, water, scrolls to read, quests, bone- and dirtpiles for gathering materials and earning XP, bags to increase your inventory space and shelter.

A lot of treasures can be found in the village, all you need to do is dig your nose into the bags and barrels at nearly every house! From sticks for crafting, sweet treats and shiny coin it can all be yours!

You will also come across a variety of villagers, such as Bulvar and Ruul, who have some simple gathering quests for you. Or chef Artax and his sweet sister Ayrie, who prepare food for the others and visitors at the village kitchen.

This village even comes with a kindergarden! A building near the northern gate provides a cozy shelter for small dragon hatchlings and different nests build by the Ka'sai to keep eggs at the right conditions to stay healthy. It even has a kitchen at its center, so the young can be fed right away with their favorite dishes!
This is where you will meet Orieth, the spiritual daughter of the villages founder, Aphtaria and her assistant Szenic. Both can tell you a thing or two about their home, perhaps you'll pick up a quest aswell?

Surrounding Plains
Next to it, towards the Great Forest, are nice plains with paths that lead towards the forest and nearby beach. One of 4 respawn points is also not to far awas from the village, keeping a careful eye on the hatchlings that start their journey.

Plus, just outside the village to the west, you'll find this cute little house that belongs to Zenwyr.

Zenwyr is a Ka'sai gardener and gatherer living here in Aphtaria Hawa, who takes care of little seedlings and sometimes some young Ka'sai that have more luck than sense sometimes..
We only know them from a note left behind, but can't meet them in the flesh yet.
Dunarth
The return of my beloved village of Dunarth brings joy not only to my nostalgic heart, but to all poor questing souls out there who are searching for specific plants for their quests.

This village comes with its iconic gardening area, which grows many different normal and nurtured plants and mushrroms, like the great Aahnunka, tons of the curly Simmatres and more.

With love for dragons and beverage!
Similar to Aphtaria Hawa, Dunarth has its own area for tamed beasts, albeit due to its very different history as an outpost for hunters instead of a save heaven. Even the smith Kovasz has a place for a tamed dragon right next to shiny metal bars and jewelry.

Just like in Aphtaria Hawa, you will meet many Ka'sai NPCs here to chat, some more pleasant than others. I am looking at you, Toral!

Just come and join us for snacks and good tea! There is abolutely nothing fishy at the dining place, I promise.

Where is this place?
A fast travel point connects this place with the others on Altuis' islands, but it is quite a journey for non flying creatures to get there in the first place.

One way is to leave Aphtaria Hawa through its northern gates and follow that path. Stick to the left and you'll find yourself in a valley with the camp Jagron Tajo a little up hill to the left. You want to stay down and continue towards and through the canyon on this areas north side.

When you exit that canyon, go as straight W/NW as possible and follow the paths, past the giant tree and past the waterfalls to your left. Here you will quickly find yourself in the valley between 3 waypoints, those being Ziet Waresz, Parallo Cara and Dunarth.
Once you see the path going up hill roughly to the west, this one will lead you straight up to the village.
Great "Kwadena" Forest

You want massive trees? You get get massive trees! Feel right at home with your forest spirit dragons, as the Great "Kwadena" Forest is perfect for you.
Like all places on Altuis, this place holds some secrets waiting to be discovered. Not only is this your best location for wood piles or finishing the quests from the orange crystal Questgiver between ths forest and the spawn village, the tiny canyons are also a good place to find Azulite and cozy hangout spots!

Hidden secrets amongst the trees
As you come near to our next location, you may come across the mysterious Stonehenge of Altuis, Sono Rad.
It is on the forests southern end, near the Dragon Spa of Sonotal Cara. People say that the legendary Seagull hoards one million Solaniam loafs near by!

True or not, sneaking around and finding more and more interesting places is fun, but keep an eye out for the sun and get out before the night approaches. Because these are terrifyingly dark! Specially, after you come across a little camp..

Luckily you won't be alone here, this camp belongs to the kind Talia, a Ka'sai traveler from Dunarth that ventures all the way here from the north of the island to enjoy southern Dazibans nature!

So if you find yourself here in the dark, you are in good company while you wait here for the dawn to approach so you can enjoy the morning sun and continue your journey. There are more mysteries to find that even I have no answers to.

Below the trees in the canyon, called Arak Umo Cuyuro, you can find many Aahnunka mushrooms if you look closely. And you may come across the Yggaron Xariazs, who will happy trade with you for one of them!
The northern Regions
Jagron Tajo
Jagron Tajo is one of the first interesting lore spots you may come across after leaving the safety of Aphtaria Hawa.

It is a hunter outpost with its own hatchery mainly for Scarroks to be raised as a hunters companion. A few Ka'sai hunters work around here, suffering from more and more aggressive Yggaron attacks.

This place lies in the heart of the islands mountains, between high peaks and deep canyons. In the future, you will have to help the hunters here and deal with the Yggaron threat that has its source in a currently blocked cave near by.

The Warden
Just a few steps outside of the northern gates of Aphtaria Hawa, you will be able to see it. The mountain that resembles a massive dragon, watching over the coast with a lake right at its feet.

You can not only easily walk all around it, but also get on its back for a stunning view before goung down to the beach line for a morning hunt for crabs.
A waypoint lies at its curled up tail.

Yamatis' Garden
"With care and love, she tried in vain,
But leaves would wither, branches wane.
In the face of nature's fickle spree,
She forged a new reality."

These are the words of the poem this gigantic tree was first shown with. The poem of a Yamati.

When you travel from Aphtaria Hawa towards the islands north, this tree will likely be the first thing you'll see and probably also come along to.

The full lore behind it is a mystery for now, but flying between the crystaline leafs feels cool while also making you feel so incredibly small.

Old Canyons, new Fields
Venture further and you will fully reach the northers regions of Island A, Ziet Waresz. Wide and hidden narrow canyons. A valley, perfect for our Yggaron enjoyers and all kinds of explorers! And fear not, you may find a bit of foos here and there too, not only fresh meat.

May I present: a little farmers house and the new, fleshed out dragon skull house.
Here you may find fresh vegetables like Solaniam, sweet Sorobara berries and cooked meat.
This place is also close to Dunarth, which is just on the other side of the canyon below, and another amazing sight.

Plus, 3 waypoints are fairly close to each other here. Dunarth, Ziet Waresz and Parallo Cara.

Aquatic Mushrooms?
Yes! Aquatic mushrooms! There is literally nothing more to see here, but look at this mystical, magical looking area.

My favorite time to come by is at night or dawn, when these mushrooms show their best side with a fascinating glow.

I believe that the waypoints name, Parallo Cara, refers to these mushrooms. They could be called Parallos or Parallo Mushrooms or I am going a totally wrong direction with this. Either way, if you come near by, come over and take some screenshots yourself!

And no worries, the west end has some food and the farm house on the cliff is good to rest at.
The southern Regions
Eslyley and the Waterfalls
Next Stop is this beautiful Eslyley Lake. Your location for fresh water, piles of dirt for quests and some Azulite. It's nice to hang out at its shore or on the "island" at its center.

A small waypoint, "Eslyley", is mearly a Vodroslength away.
Below its waterfalls lies Pebble beach with the Gizaley Cara waypoint.

Speaking of the waterfalls, have a look at them! They fall down to a big and beautiful bay with these big round rocks, giving it the nickname of Pebble Beach.

To be fair, looking at how big these are it should be more like Boulder Beach!

The Village of the Coast
Easy to spot while flying, yet a hidden gem. Finastey Berin, the village of the coast. This little location lies at the very south-west tip of Island A, a calm place for a rest.

Let the gentle ocean breeze strive through your Yamatis fur or bathe your scales in the warming sun while fresh food is cooking on the grill.

If you want to get here fasteer next time, look at the biggest rock on the island, near the grill. The islands Waypoint stands in its shade.

In the many bags, crates and barrels you may find various items, from sticks to sweets and maybe even flasks!

Bridges to more Islands
Not far for our previous location lies the path and first steps to the new worlds. A massive natural rock bridge connects Palo Quario with the rest of Island A.
Palo Quario is just like Finastey Berin a small island on its own right between the 2 main islands, A and B, and serves as their connection.

The hill of this place is streaked with narrow caves and has a massive cave like beach area facing towards Island B. From here, only a short swim is between you and the new shores.

And the next waypoint isn't far, on a little part of the beach reaching out towards Island B on Palo Quarios northern side.

Coastlines for Dragons
Ok, after a cool drink, who wants to build sand castles?
Let's take a look at the best leveling locations from what I could see, the beaches!

Carpil Sallin - Crab Island
If you follow the path up hill next to Aphtaria Hawas waypoint, you'll soon get a view over a popular leveling ground.
A boneyard with an unnamed beach, beneath the cliff. Follow the path further and you'll get down there safely.
Past it lies Carpil Sallin, the crab island.

Leveling is the main reason people go here, because of the crabs that live here and how close it is to the spawn.
But some crabs are hiding underwater there, so you might want to go for a swim! But besides that it is a nice, island like area for beach lovers.

You can even get on top of the bigger rock formation as a flightless creature, a good spot for a sunbath and a break from the hunt.

The Eastcoast
Not far away from Aphtaria Hawa lies this wonderful bay, Ni Cara. While you won't find much to collect here apart from sand, it is a beautiful place for Yamati and other dragons to hang out at and have some beach parties.

A waypoint hidden on the nearest island provides a quick port, but for some of us it requires a little swim, like my little Ka'sai or Yggaron friends!

Follow the coast further south you will eventually reach Sonotal Cara, the big part of the beach with more to see. Not only will you come across the fishing spot and the house of 2 Ka'sai there, but also many Hokura nests and more crabs.

But be aware, those crabs also tend to stay underwater, so do not hesitate to go for a swim here and gaze upon pretty underwater locations in the holes of the shallow waters.

At the furthest southern bit you find the waypoint of Sonotal Cara, as well as a beautiful cave and the Dragon Spa hot springs up hill, with a nice view over the ocean.
This cozy open area is perfect to hang out at with your whole dragon family, big and smoll, scaly or fluffy, löng or - you get it.

The sandy spots make it feel like a playground with a great view over the beach and ocean below and the great forest in the back.

And do not let the geysers fool you, they are harmless and fun to fly through!

Brakz Caryes, the Broken Shores
Lastly, the biggest shoreline of Island A, Brakzs Caryes. This area grants you a view at the central bay between the main islands, providing many sandpiles and some ores for farming experience or matierials for the quests and many crabs to hunt.

Speaking of quests, the blue Questgiver is near by. It will give you quests for the beach, so get ready for sea shells, pearls and LOTS OF SAND in your inventory.

One waypoint is in the north near one path to Dunarth, "Brakz Caryes Noro". Another waypoint, simply "Brakz Caryes", is under the rock pillar closest to the water.
The last waypoint, "Brakz Caryes Saro", is just above the beach on a cliffside near the Great Lake, towards the gigantic rock formations is a little house at which you can fill your belly with fresh water and juicy meat.

Caves to explore
Viridite Cave

With the Viridite Cave, another legend has returned from old Altuis. With many Viridite deposits to harvest, food and water is provided too. This little gem lies on the islands northern side, right in front the gigantic tree and its coastline. It has a small entrance but is definitely worth a visit and has lots of viridite ores to gather for your hoard!

Cliff Cave
Fortunatelly big enough for a full grown Vodros to fit through the entrance, the Cliff Cave invites for a visit.
A relic from old Altuis' Lindworm Canyon, having the same layout, the campfire, the food, the bed behind a leather curtain. You get inside this cozy place and feel home in an instant.

I still remember searching this cave until a kind sould guided me to my destiny. I always like to come by.

You'll easily find it near Dunarth, right next to the waypoint Parallo Cara.

Passage Cave
The Passage Cave is part of a route to the northern areas of Daziban, such as described on the way to Dunarth above.
You can reach it by following the path from Jagron Tajo to the little gate and through the canyon.

And in case you forgot your lunch, not far into the cave lies a carcass, ready to be snacked.

Northern Grotto
Following the way further north you may come across the Waypoint Vast Cuyuro and the grotto down the cliff to the west of it. A nice place to hang out on a hot summer day!

The shallow water is perfect for small creatures to swim around and in the northern corner grow some semi aquatic Liara mushrooms for a quick snack, yet taking some fresh or cooked meat with you is advised at all times.

Azulite Cave
YES! The Azulite Cave has made it's return! While it is much smaller than the one I used to hang out at it is not a bit less pretty! In fact, I do prefer this cozy place, but you do need your night vision to see everything - and find your way back outside!

The entrance is a bit hidden, below the Dragon Spa. But just follow Sonotal Cara a bit further south and you'll find the area that leads you directly into the cave. It is full of bright Azulite crystals, small Polly mushrooms and massive Lethinas for your health potions!

Datlen  [author] 21 Aug, 2024 @ 10:58pm
I cannot keep it that way nor change it since I‘m a player like you, not part of the dev team xD
StevnG 21 Aug, 2024 @ 6:05pm
Datlen Ohana keep it that way don't change a thing about it please that is very useful, realism doesn't alway matter even for a good world build.
Datlen  [author] 21 Aug, 2024 @ 4:15am
for now you can dive as long as you want with any species because there is no system for that in yet.
StevnG 20 Aug, 2024 @ 2:57pm
Datlen Ohana Cool, well done you guys! Also can all dragons breathe underwater
or do they hold their breaths forever?
Datlen  [author] 19 Aug, 2024 @ 2:52pm
Today is your lucky day, @StevnG :slimetabby:
With patch 0.4.0.0 we got some scary WIP reefs to explore between the islands C and D, aka the floating isles and "Lotus Island".
StevnG 1 Jul, 2024 @ 2:25pm
I would look forward to that if soon, including deep trenches and giant flooded sea caves.
Datlen  [author] 1 Jul, 2024 @ 2:16am
Mainly some little reefs at Sonotal Cara or the coast of Parallo Cara, but for the most part Altuis' oceans are barren.

For now :)

Though I have to admit I cannot say how high our chances are to see more aquatic wonders in the future, which I would love to explore too!
StevnG 1 Jul, 2024 @ 1:18am
Any sunmerged water worlds to explore?
cavy 13 Apr, 2024 @ 3:46pm
