A word of advice for the order of the islands
By v1ncent
In this short guide I would like to give my first impressions and thoughts after a few hours of play and help some with the choice of islands. At the moment, I'm really enjoying the game with this order and it feels very right and fluid to me.

Background information about my person.
Hello dear reader of this guide,

I have only been playing Risen 3 for a few hours at the time of writing this guide. 14.1 hours to be exact. What I want to say is that I am far from having a walkthrough for this game or anything like that. I just want to share a tip that I experienced in the first few hours of the game.
My advice
But now to the so-called tip: It's about the order in which you travel to the islands. If you own all the expansions, there are exactly 9 islands. You start on the "Crab Coast". After finishing the tutorial there, you have a free choice.

I recommend (especially if you want to play a mage) to sail to "Taranis" first. I have only had this experience so far, but I would like to explain why I found it very pleasant:

- The start on the island is very slow and you have enough time to get your bearings.
- As someone who has not played the second part of the Risen series, the story of the game is well explained by the different characters.
- The island has beautiful scenery.
- There are a lot of quests that are well intertwined. They are interesting, fun and you discover a lot of the background of the story.
- There is good equipment, so you get good armour, weapons, earrings, rings, amulets and prisms, which are very helpful for astral vision.
- There are many merchants and many teachers who teach you various fighting, thieving or magic talents.
- There are many treasures and interesting and hidden places to discover.

These arguments should be enough to convince you.

After you have been to Taranis, I recommend visiting Antigua next. I won't tell you why, but you will find out. Furthermore, the people of Taranis will send you to other islands.

I hope that some of you have now received a nudge in the direction of the choice of island and can now make a better decision.

Whatever you decide, have fun playing!
