This is a special map that I've been requested to make for recording purposes. I'm uploading it here in case anyone finds it useful as well.

"Blue Screen? What kind of map is this?"

Ever wanted to record, say, your curent weapon, and then overlay it on top of some footage for a cool result? Well, now you can, thanks to Chroma Keying!

"But what is Chroma Keying anyway?"

From Wikipedia:
'Chroma key compositing, or chroma keying, is a special effects / post-production technique for compositing (layering) two images or video streams together based on color hues (chroma range). The technique has been used heavily in many fields to remove a background from the subject of a photo or video – particularly the newscasting, motion picture and videogame industries.'

"I started the map up and I see a large blue thing in front of me. What now?"

That's the set. You need to go INSIDE it. Don't worry, the walls are fake, so just walk through them.

"OK, so what do I need to do?"

First off, go to your settings in-game and disable HDR Bloom, or you'll get a blue aura around everything inside the blue set.
Next up, enable cheats and disable the HUD. You can do this by opening the console and typing 'enablecheats', enter it, then typing 'showhud' to toggle the HUD. If you wanna hide your current gun, use 'showgun' to toggle.
Then summon whatever stuff you need into the game, and start recording inside the blue set. Feel free to move around both you and your view for the optimal lighting, and head outside to drop/pick up your things and orient yourself.
Oh, and don't shoot the ground, unless you want puffs of smoke from your shots to show up for some reason.

How to spawn stuff you want[forums.tripwireinteractive.com]
NOTE: Character spawn commands now have a suffix since the latest updates, that allow you to choose between different skin versions of zeds (_STANDARD, _HALLOWEEN, _XMAS etc).
You MUST use the suffix to spawn zeds, or it will not work!
Example: Before -> Summon KFChar.ZombieClot (missing suffix)
After -> Summon KFChar.ZombieClot_STANDARD (suffix applied for standard skin)
Otherwise it works exactly the same as usual, so have fun!

"I got the footage now, how can I use it?"

After recording the footage, you can use one of the many video editing tools out there, like Sony Vegas. I'm not going to explain it, since there are tons of tutorials everywhere.

I've tested this extensively to perfection, so you shouldn't have any problems with it. Feel free to comment about whatever though.

I assume you were trying to summon characters like the Clot.
Summon now requires a suffix to spawn characters or it will not work, see my explanation above, otherwise it works exactly the same as before, but now allowing you to pick different skins!
