  • The in-game guidebook does mention this very briefly, but it's worth stressing: on the mission screen with a tile selected on the map, the little "damage type" icon on an enemy's display card is the damage type they take only 1/4 damage from! red for explosive, yellow for heat, blue for energy, white for ballistic - same as the icons on your weapons.

  • Tip for dealing with Rams (that ram your mechs and push them): customize a weapon to use the "slows enemies on hit" mod - it makes Rams much easier to get away from!

  • As much as possible, try to avoid any tile that has any enemies besides the basic crabs. Other enemies are super unbalanced and cheesy right now.

  • "Why can't I upgrade this station module?"
    • Select a station module.
    • See the yellow blocks, representing it's upgrade level?
    • Just below, see the blue blocks? This module is supported by and depends upon another module, and the other module's level is shown by these blue blocks. Also note the blue line - it points connects to the supporting module so you can visually locate it.
    • For example: If you want to upgrade this module (yellow blocks) to level 3, the supporting module (blue blocks) needs to be at least 3, also.

  • If your mechs get mobbed in melee, the Pilot AI becomes stupid and stops listening to your commands. Try to keep your mechs out of tight spaces or melee situations as much as possible.

  • Some important station modules I'd like to call your attention to:
      top ring:
    • 56 upper factory: building stuff (ordering components) gets done faster
    • 62 ammo factory: reduces resource cost of sending mechs on missions
    • 61 medical compartment 3: increases personnel related stuff a lot
    • 59 repair bay: reduces cost of repairing mechs (hanger > mech > wrench icon to repair)
      bottom ring:
    • eastern factory
    • new technology
    • medbay 2
    • academy: affects new pilots per week

  • Your mechs can actually shoot at things pretty far away (you might have to use focus fire command sometimes). Use this to your advantage when fighting the big "base" worm (aka mission target) - issue a new position command out of it's range, and if necessary, use focus fire command to shoot at it from outside it's range.
