Description

Coconut Islands is a tropical islands map, made up of a group of islands in the middle of the sea. The map is playable with 9, 25 or 81 tiles.

This map only has a small buildable area, so this map is suitable:
- if you want to build in very high detail without worrying about the objects count limit (because the buildable area is not so big, although you can reclaim as many land as possible if you want)
- if you don't have a strong PC (it only requires 11k population to get the highest milestone)
- if you want to try to challenge yourself by building on the islands map
- etc.

Based on a real-world location in Seribu Islands Regency , Jakarta, Indonesia[www.google.com] with 2:1 scale, which is 2 meters in the game = 1 meter in the real world, so there is more buildable area than in the real world.

Vanilla assets only, but Map Themes, LUTs and some Visual Mods are highly recommended to use. My mods settings are in the images above, but you can change the setting as you like, also you can still play this map without any of those if you want.

> Highway Connection hidden under the big rock in the starting tile. You can use this connection for early game if you don't use 'unlock all' mod to build harbour/airport. You can bulldoze the highway connections if you don't use them as that's not a realistic way to access these kinds of islands, build a harbour or airport instead.

> This map uses only the new vanilla content creator trees.
> The trees in the water represent mangrove trees, you can remove them if you don't use the No Radioactive Mod/other similar functionality mod or if you don't like the trees in the water.


Tips:
  • Not recommend taking water and dumping sewage in the sea, use water towers and inland sewage treatment instead (from dlc or steamworkshop).

  • Small ship and ferry assets might be more suitable for a small islands like this. Various dock assets from steamworkshop can be useful for building a customized harbour.

  • You can use pedestrian area from Plaza & Promenades DLC to 'teleporting' the cargo to commercial zone buildings on different islands.

  • Extra Landscaping Tools mods is recommended especially if you want to do a lot of terraforming, paint or erase sand area, deleting trees, or anything else.

    > Click several times the 'reset water to sea level' button after terraforming in water area to prevent sea flood on your builds, it takes a few minutes for the water to refill and stabilize to the shoreline.

    > Don't Change The Water Spawning Point And Sea Level Slider! (unless you understand the water physics in this game)

This is my go-to map for every city. About to do another save-game after a year of not playing and I'm happy that I was able to find this map on the workshop again

@florpzorp: maybe there is a conflict/errors from the mods or assets you are using, try to first load (don't second load) this map with only the mod I recommend or no mod at all, I think you should be able to open the map

Fantastic job @Madd! I love island maps and this one is definitely in my top 5 ever. BonBonB always does a great job and reviewing this map, he did just that!. I cannot wait to do a nice build on this map come Spring.
