TOXIKK SDKK INSTALL GUIDE

Preface:
- Before installing, A modern multi-core CPU & SSD Drive should be used for Toxikk+SDKK. This way SDKK can quickly load & compile assets from the drive without having to wait too long.

-- I recommend doing the following guide steps in order on a fresh install of Toxikk. The SDKK install will overwrite your existing Toxikk configuration.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
  • 1.) Download and install Toxikk to your SSD. This will download the game and any workshop maps that you're currently subscribed to on the workshop.

For sanity, I'm going to reference this folder as the current install folder. ( C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\TOXIKK ). You will use your current install path.

  • 2.) Once Toxikk has downloaded everything from steam, RUN THE GAME!
Do not make custom changes to the game just yet! We just want to run it once, get to the main menu of the game and exit.

--This will verify game assets/configs once for the game, after the SDKK is installed the config files will be overwritten.

  • 3.) After you've opened up the game to the main menu once & closed the game.
--Open 'SDKK' from the steam library. You can find this option when you click to "play" Toxikk and select from the bullet options.

  • 4.) An error should pop up as SDKK is not installed. This will direct you to a very large install file (1.9GB.zip~ I believe). Go ahead and download this and save for future installs.

Alternate link: Toxikk.com/files/SDKK-UDK_Install.zip Grab it while you can and spread it around as it's the final version for TOXIKK!

  • 5.) Open the installer "SDKK-UDK_Install.exe". Accept license terms.

  • 6.) Select "Empty Game" as this will give us the basic SDKK Install without any extra UTGame assets. These assets may not be included for other players.
(Advanced users will know how to create their own .upk asset packages)

  • 7.) Project Name: TOXIKK (It needs to be the same as the folder name)
    Install location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\TOXIKK
    E-mail: Nope

  • - Click "INSTALL"

  • 8.) After the install, there is optional Server/Client software. Ignore these!

  • 9.) !! DO NOT !! 'Launch UDK' AFTER INSTALL !! -- Use 'Return to Desktop'

  • 10.) SDKK is installed, now we need to verify our Toxikk steam files. Steam will download additional files needed for SDKK & overwrite your existing Toxikk config files.

  • 11.) After the new files have downloaded, Run Toxikk again (main menu) and make sure the game is working correctly. From here you can now set all of your name & suit settings/custom configs/video/audio/mouse options etc.

  • 12.) After you've set up your Toxikk game, you can now close and open SDKK. The first run may take a while for everything to load & compile. After the first run, it loads as normal.

I use this steam startup cmd line for seeing what the Toxikk game and/or SDKK is doing in the background as sometimes it needs to compile materials if packages are being loaded.
