C4V's guide on 1x1 missiles (fixed for now)
By C4V Engineering
In this guide ill be going over how to use the 1x1 missiles parts and how to make your own missiles so let's begin.

NOTE: this guide is for air to everything or ground/sea to air. if you want ground to ground to ground or sea to sea then your going to have to modify the missiles as bit.

BROKEN

In this guide ill be going over how to use the 1x1 missiles parts and how to make your own missiles so let's begin.

To start this off your going to need

Missile radar
Small warhead
1x1 rocket fuel
1x1 rocket fins
1x1 booster
Round hardpoint

First thing first we need to place down our hardpoint. What the hardpoint will do is allow us to fire the rocket and to have it connect to our jet or boat or whatever your using it for. Next place a warhead on the front of the hardpoint then the missile's radar. Make sure the rotation arrows are above the missile. Next place like 3 rocket fuel segments then a fin. Now this is where the fun part comes into play. You need to have your fins the opposite way compared to your radar. So if your radar has the positive facing left then have the fin going right. Next have the positive going up and the negative going down. After that place down your booster.

This is the only image I can find that has the rotation arrows.

Ok time to set up everything. Go into the select tool and select the radar. Set it to static and have the fov at 0.08. This will let you have 1250m of range. Next go to the warhead and set it to 10m/s. When its speed drops 10m/s aka when it hits something the warhead will go off. Next go to your booster and set it to 40% burn rate. This will make the missiles slower but will also let it hit.

Ok, it's logic time. Go to your logic tab and go to data. Hook the hardpoint to your booster, radar and warhead. Next go to electric and hook your hardpoint to radar and everything else that needs electricity. Then go to the composite and hook your missile radar to your fins. Note that you need to hook the comp that is off the radar and not the comp that gives you target lock, azimuth and other stuff.

Next, find a target and fire. It should hopefully hit and let it don't. Let's say it goes left instead of right. Well just flip your yaw. Let's say it goes up instead of down. Well just flip your pitch. Let's say it just drops even though it's running. Well give it more power. Let's say it ect ect well then ect ect. You get the idea. If something doesn't work just do the opposite of it.

Now note. These missiles are affected by chaff and these aren't the best against players since the player can turn and the missiles lose lock but the AI dont know that they are getting shot at so they don't move which means these are great against AI.

FIXED

ok so the top part you just read is wrong besides lower booster power. i have finally got so bored that i did some more missile testing and fixed the missile design. the RM 1 and 2... yeah there not going to be fixed. here some pictures on them because im to lazy to write up how they work. a example missile might come out to the workshop but i doubt it.

fin orientation

data

comp

electric

now the reason why this guide was broken was due to the devs ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up radar so i just waited for the devs to fix it to resume testing. now if this guide ever breaks again let me know so i can put it back in the title

thank you

I think that my missile don't even try to track a target.

good news it tracks

bad news still goes straight up and when it tracks it veers away

you can send comp to all fins. the last images are of a missile that worked for me
marshall3331 24 Jul, 2022 @ 10:08am
do you have to put comp to all fins?
marshall3331 24 Jul, 2022 @ 10:07am
i don't know how to fix it.
