Introduction
Hello gamer!
Do you still want multiplayer achievements? Even if you know that multiplayer is dead?
Here's several hints for you.

Achievements we'll talk about:
  • Topher Would Be Proud
  • Battle Scarred
  • Mad genius
Be advised, that original Red Faction Guerrilla was released in 2009 and ALL guides that you can find in internet is about original game, not Re-Mars-tered version. Guide authors just copy this guides to remaster page without mentioning that multiplayer achievements have become 2-10 times easier.

All information about your kills, wins, played modes, etc. is collected on the statistics page in multiplayer mode.
Topher Would Be Proud
"Topher Would Be Proud" isn't difficult achievement but takes a lot of time if you do it normal way. The idea is that every time you connect to match and disconnect you get +1 match and +1 loss.

The best method is:
  1. Find 3+ players, start the ranked match
  2. Two people should stay on the server while others can constantly reconnecting. Use key X to fast reconnect after disconnect.
  3. If reconnecting is not available - all leave the server and restart the match.
One ranked game (10 minutes) can bring up to 50 matches to stats and one player can get this achievement in ~1 hour. But it almost don't give you XP.

If there's only 2 of you - you can start the ranked match and alternately leave the game. 1 match will cost you ~30 seconds but still it's faster than play bagman mode with 4-5 minutes per match.

Don't forget that you need to kill 10 enemies in matchmaking for "Doing Your Part" and win a matchmaking match at least once for "Just the Beginning".

The more you know: Original game had one more achievement, "A Winner is You", which required to win 250 matchmaking games. Just imagine how kind developers become.
Battle Scarred
"Battle Scarred" (includes "Field Tested") is XP-based achievement.
Farming XP is your first priority, because most difficult achievement, "Mad Genius" require at least 28,000 XP to get all bonuses available (we'll talk about it later).

Fastest way to get XP is make custom match with party with settings:
  • Game mode - Capture the flag
  • Map - Quarantine
  • Score limit - 10
  • Enemy icons - Always (if you want to see where your enemy is to make some kills)
  • Respawn delay - 0:03
  • Backpack spawns - Fleefoot
  • Starting backpack - Rhino
  • Movement Speed - 130%
  • Weapon - Thermobaric rocket
Use rhino and thermobaric rocket to make clear path between flags, take fleefoot backpack to increase speed, go for flags.

Farming XP require 2 people. You can farm XP together, running by each other, or alone - when lobby leader play and restart the game and second player is being afk.

One session (10 flags for winner) will cost ~4 minutes and brings ~450 XP.
So earning 10,000 XP for "Battle Scarred" will take 1.5-2 hours, earning 24,000 XP ~4,5 hours. Why 25,000 and not 28,000 XP? Because after you'll get 25,000 XP you can already start to do "Mad Genius" achievement and earn missing XP in process.

The more you know: Original game had another great achievement, "War Veteran", which required 100,000 XP. YOLO.
Mad genius
"Mad Genius" (includes "Experimenter" and "Detective") is the hardest achievement in RFG.
I won't reinvent the wheel so use this really good guide[www.trueachievements.com] for the original game.

What do you need to know:
Hidden challenges have also been simplified and they look like this:
  1. 5 kills - every weapons (not 10 kills)
  2. 5 wins - every mode (not 10 wins)
  3. 25 wins (not 100 wins)
  4. 50 XP - every backpack (not 100 XP)
  5. 50 XP - every weapon (not 100 XP)
  6. 250 kills - any weapon (not 1000 kills)
  7. 1250 XP - any backpack (not 500 XP)
  8. 1250 XP - any weapon (not 5000 XP)
  9. 125 XP - any bonus (not 500 XP)
  10. 3 XP - every bonus (not 5 XP)
  11. 1 life: 5 kills - 1 weapon (not 10 kills)
  12. 1 life: 15 bonus XP (not 25 XP)
  13. 1 life: 5 XP - 3 backpacks (not 5 backpacks)
  14. 1 life: 25 XP (not 50 XP)
  15. 1 life: Kill - 3 weapons (not 5 weapons)
  16. 1 life: 7 bonuses (not 15 bonuses)
Some challenges are significantly easier now, don't do extra work.
I recommend to start from "3 XP - every bonus", because it saves your time by bringing some kills and weapon/backpack XP for another challenges in process. Just decide which weapon will be your main (better take 1 hit killing weapons with flying backpack). After that, you can do kill bonuses and automatically get other bonuses like backpack XP, etc.

"3 XP - every bonus".
It's the hardest challenge. There's 50 bonuses total.
Each bonus becomes available for completion at a certain amount of XP. So even if you can see full list of this bonuses in statistics from beginning, they will not be count util you'll open it.
Compared to the original game, the required amount of XP that you need is halved - 28,000 XP in Re-Mars-ter vs 56,000 XP in original.

Required amount of people for bonuses.
  • Only 2 bonuses require 4 people:
    1. Synchronized Kill
    2. BBQ
  • 8 bonuses require 3 people:
    1. Assist
    2. Heal
    3. Pack Hunter
    4. Rescue Kill
    5. Vendetta
    6. Knockdown
    7. Mega Kill
    8. Lined Up
  • Other 40 bonuses require only 2 people
So if you have 3 or 4 people in lobby, try to get appropriate bonuses first.

I can't exactly calculate how long it will take to get "Mad Genius", because some bonuses can be achieved automatically during the game, but according to my experience main challenges will cost you:
  • 250 kills - 30 minutes with 2 afks on server (set score to 200 and time to 30 in anarchy mode)
  • Every weapon kills - 40 minutes with 1 afk
  • 5 wins every mode - 1 hour (set time limit to 1 minute and do smth to increase score)
  • 3 XP every bonus - 3-4 hours
Afterword
I hope I did your achievement hunting a little bit easier.

Keep in mind that all time calculations are for one person, so you need to multiply that time by the number of people in the process to get the total time. Good thing is you can be afk the most time if you are not increasing stats.

This game is not-so-little buggy, so if you can't connect to lobby that means you need to restart your game. Also, if you contribute to the game as afk, check it sometimes because game also like to freeze.
