Introduction
Updated for Master Cryptozoologist!

3rd Party Tools:
Some of the guides below highly benefit from the use of an Auto Clicker and a Mouse Macro, as some of the achievements require you to place or repeat a certain action multiple times.

Here are the Auto Clickers I used to complete this if you don't have your own. They are free to trial and can be downloaded from the websites listed below:

Auto Clicker: https://www.murgee.com/auto-clicker/
Mouse Macro: https://www.murgee.com/auto-mouse-click/

In-Game Tools:
I try to list as many of the useful tools you will need to complete each of the achievements, but having end-game gear is almost required for some achievements.

Strategies
The first 3 achievements (Master Gardener, Master Architect, and Master Animal Whisperer) can all be done in a few hours and do not require much to complete.

The other 3 achievements (Master Sailor, Master Mutant Slayer, and Master Explorer) can all be done at the same time. You can boat to ylands, explore everything on them, and kill everything in the caves, then boat to a new yland and repeat. It is time consuming, and may take multiple sessions to complete, but will progress all three at the same time and is highly recommended!

And the newest achievement (Master Cryptozoologist) can be done while getting Master Explorer but will also take a while to complete. Search for notes left behind by Nicholas Arbeo, then gather resources to make the bait for the mythical creature. After the bait is crafted, return to the original island and attempt to capture it.
Master Gardener
*Auto Clicker Recommended
Estimated Time: ~15 min

Steps:
  • Gather 334+ of any crop or plant. I recommend grass or corn, as they are the easiest to find on ylands in the Tropical climate. But any plant will work really.
  • From the 334 crops/plants craft 1002 seeds. Each crop or piece of grass makes 3 seeds each.
  • Now find a yland you don't mind decimating, and plant all the seeds. (I recommend just running/flying and planting, don't try to plant in a grid, just make trails of seeds) Having a propeller pack and an auto clicker makes this process super quick and fun!
  • Once you've planted all the seeds, the achievement should pop.

Master Architect
*Mouse Macro Recommended
Estimated Time: Just over 1 hour

Steps:
  • Gather ~10 wood, stone, or straw.
  • Craft a building station, and place it either in a tree or somewhere where you won't get hurt by enemies. You may also want to eat before attempting this.
  • Enter build mode and search for any 1 x 1 x 1 block (smaller blocks help reduce in-game lag)
  • Set up a macro to left click, then right click, in the center of your screen. (i.e. 1280x720 for a 2560x1440 monitor, or 960x540 for a 1920x1080 monitor). Have about 200 milliseconds of time between each action. And set this to repeat 10,000 times.

  • IMPORTANT! Make sure to set a keyboard shortcut to activate and deactivate the script in case something messes up, as a script like this will control your mouse movement for over an hour!

  • Once these are set, go back into the game, look at the ground, and start your script.
  • With 200ms of time between placing and destroying blocks, you should be able to place 2.5 blocks per second, meaning 10,000 blocks will take 1.1 hours.
  • Not necessary, but if you want, put on a movie or a long YT video on another screen before you begin your script ;)
Master Animal Whisperer
Estimated Time: ~1 hour

Steps:
  • Gather ~30 carrots, corn, or potatoes and ~30 hay.
  • Easiest baits to make and animals to catch are Rabbits.
  • Since the release of 1.10 bait costs less to craft, but animals will always consume them upon being tamed. Even if you are fast enough to pick up the bait after taming the animal it will get removed from your inventory (outdated glitch method for saving bait)
  • Place the bait down near a group of rabbits, and wait for one to start eating it. A food thought bubble will show above one of their heads if they are interested.
  • Once the rabbit starts eating, quickly run up to it and press the button to open the radial menu then pet the animal. You will have to do this twice to tame it. (Since 1.10 taming no longer requires the player to pet an animal 5 times)
  • Name the rabbit, then afterwards set it free with the radial menu and place down the bait again.
  • Repeat this process until the achievement pops, progress can be tracked in the Achievements section of the Player Details interface in the top left of the pause menu.
Master Sailor
Estimated Time: ~2 hours

Steps:
  • Make sure you have a proper ship constructed before attempting this guide.
  • To see if your ship is achieving its maximum speed, you can check the Ylands Wiki here:
    https://ylands.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Ships
  • Once you have a fast boat the following steps are super easy!

  • Load up a new single player yland.
  • Once you've loaded in, open the map and load up another yland.
  • Once you've loaded in, open the map and load up another yland.
  • Once you've loaded in... I think you get the point.

  • Depending on how fast your device loads a new map, and how many ylands you've already discovered, it shouldn't take more than an hour (~3 islands every ~2 minutes with deleting old ylands. I was able to get it down to 35 seconds per map.)
  • This works because loading a new map automatically assumes the yland is discovered, even though you haven't actually set foot on it.
  • Repeat the following steps until the achievement pops, progress can be tracked in the Achievements section of the Player Details interface in the top left of the pause menu.
Master Mutant Slayer
*Difficult/Time Consuming Achievement
Estimated Time: A lot :(

Helpful Tools:
  • Guardian Armor (crafted late game)
  • Propeller Pack (crafted late game)
  • Mining Drill (and a way to charge it, crafted late game)
  • You favorite weapon (guns are no longer top tier as of the 2.0 update)

Steps For Killing:
  • Sail to a new yland (Temperate, Arid, and Taiga climates seem to be the best)
  • Hard climates will be more difficult, and easy climates will spawn less enemies. So find a climate you enjoy that's somewhere in the middle.
  • First, fly around and find a cave entrance on the first yland you come across.
  • You can lure mutated creatures by shooting one and letting them come to you instead of charing in and fighting the whole pack.
  • You may also want to learn how to properly dodge and block, as the new 2.0 update has prioritized this method of attacking.
  • Once you've killed everything inside the cave, fly back to your boat, then find a new yland.
  • Do not bother sailing to other ylands in the map, it's faster to visit the first yland, then find a fresh map. Loading into a new map and sailing to the first available yland is always the fastest method.

Notes:
  • CHECK THE WIKI! Mutated animals now how resistances to various elements, so if you are farming the same mutated variant over and over again, you might as well research what it's weakness is, and exploit that to save time.
  • Kill everything! Even if takes several bullets, explosives, or minutes of back and forth sword fighting, it's better to fight what you have available.
  • Tesla Coils: You can carry around the parts to construct a working Tesla Coil (Small Ylandium Generator, Tesla Coil, and an Energy Linker) and use it to kill creatures, but constructing and deconstructing these takes more time than it's worth. Enemies can wander out of range too.
  • You can try exploring ylands at night, and get large amounts to spawn above ground during the night. But this only works if you haven't killed any of the mutated creatures underground. From my experience, it takes longer and isn't worth it.
  • There are ways to carefully kill all but a two mutated creatures of the same type in the caves, as to let them respawn naturally, but sleeping and waiting for them to respawn would consume too much food and is very slow, so again not worth it.
Master Explorer
*Possible Spoilers for Ember Yland
Estimated Time: A lot :(

Helpful Tools:
  • Propeller Pack (crafted late game)
  • Compass (can be crafted or obtained from the tutorial yland)

Steps For Basic Exploration:
  • Sail to a fresh yland and explore everything you can
  • Some random encounters like the Mr. Winston "HELP" don't seem to give any exploration points. And things like the watchtowers require you to stand underneath them between the pillars.
  • When you've collected all you can, turn your boat around (using the quick boat turning tip) and sail back out to the edge of the map.
  • Don't bother exploring other ylands in the same map, its faster to travel to a new map and explore the first yland you see.

Ember Yland Exploration Points Trick:
  • When you have 30 or more Exploration Points, its worth it to travel to the Mystery Yland called Ember Yland in the Temperate climate.
  • SPOILERS: From there you can easily grab the Cogwheel from the smallest building (in a container on the wall) and then go to the large door near the shore on the hill with the radar tower. On the grid, enter the pattern left, up, right, down and use the Cogwheel to complete the task inside.
  • Doing this will give you 10 Exploration Points, and is one of the fastest Mystery Ylands to complete.
  • From there just leave and explore new random ylands, and whenever you get to 30 Exploration Points, make a trip to the Ember Yland to easily get another 10 points!
  • Repeat this method until the achievement pops, progress can be tracked in the Achievements section of the Player Details interface in the top left of the pause menu.
Master Crypozoologist
*Difficult/Time Consuming Achievement
Estimated Time: A lot :(

Technicalities:
This achievement requires you to tame each of the 30 unique mythical animals at least once. Progression towards this achievement only counts for the first mythical animal of that type to be tamed. Therefore, making bait for the same animal more than once is a waste of resources.
  • ( A ) Nicholas Arbeo's zoology notes are random encounters that you'll likely come across while attempting Master Explorer. This encounter can appear as a lean-to, a tipi, a tent, or other small survivalist shelters. The note will sparkle and is often placed on rocks or small tables with high visibility. These encounters are random, but seem to be semi-frequent.
  • ( B ) Notes left behind by the famous zoologist contain a single recipe for a random mythcial animal bait. As well as a description of the mythical animal's appearance.
  • ( C ) After reading the note, an icon will be displayed on your map. This will direct you to where the animal can be found an eventually tamed. Some of the ingredients for the mythical animal bait can be found at these locations, but not enough to craft it.
‎ ‎ ( A )
‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎‎ ‎ ‎( C )
Steps:
  • Ingredients for the bait can be found under the newly unlocked recipe in the crafting panel, or on the Ylands Wiki under Taming: https://ylands.fandom.com/wiki/Taming
  • Ingredients like Pheromones, Cubed Sugar, Cat Food, and Dog Treats can only be found on specific Mystery Ylands.

  • As you collect resources to craft all the bait, I recommend exploring ylands and saving the ones that have mythical animals you still need to obtain.
  • Explore and gather at the same time.
  • Once you have all the resources to craft every bait, go back to the ylands and tame the ones you have the baits for.
  • Once you've returned to the area marked on the map, you should get a notification indicating that you're in the correct area.
  • If you place down the bait and get the message "Nothing happens..." then you need to check your note again. There are likely specific conditions that must be met in order for your mythical animal to appear. The Fog Moloch for instance, needs to be tamed at night in the fog.
  • You'll know when the weather condition for your mythical animal to spawn is correct when a light mist surrounds the spawn area.
  • If you get the message "Something is approaching..." then your mythical animal is spawning. DO NOT PICK UP THE BAIT! This will scare off the mythical animal and you'll get the notification "The creature ran away. It is likely it won't return for some time..."
  • If your mythical animal gets stuck, help it reach the food.
  • Once the animal is eating, quickly run up to the animal and press and hold the radial menu button, this will automatically start petting, and it much faster than opening the radial menu and selecting the "pet" option. You only need to pet the mythical animal once to tame it.
  • Repeat this process 29 more times to unlock the Master Cryptozoologist achievement.

Possible Strategies
  • MAKE A PIGEON POST, and craft 5 Herbalist Vendor Banners. You can only have one active at a time, however, each herbalist sells 100 Magic Dust for a value of 10000. This is an expensive way to get all the magic dust required for all 30 Mythical Animal Baits, however, 91 Ylandium Dust sells for 10010, so if you have any extra dust lying around from getting the Master Mutant Slayer achievement, this might be a good use for it.
  • GATHER AS YOU GO! It might be beneficial to collect all the resources necessary to tame every mythical animal even if you don't have all the notes for them. Explore ylands and collect resources (listed below) and when you find a Nicholas Arbeo note, save the yland and rename it to the name of the mythical animal. That way when you have all the materials for the bait, you can return to that yland to tame it.
  • Have a substantial supply of food ready. You'll likely be sleeping through several in-game days to get the right spawn conditions, which will cause you to starve. Be prepared!
  • Some mythical animals are hostile. A Propeller Pack is strongly recommended.
  • Since you will likely be taming more mythical animals than you can have companion bonds with, any mythical animal you set free, you should also kill. Mythical animals drop a single Magic Dust when killed. Not the best return value, but a return value nonetheless.
