This guide is for if your computer has two or more monitors.

You will notice that when you play Kane & Lynch 2 that your secondary monitors turns black. This can be annoying because people typically own two or more monitors for a reason - whether it's to have something open, or for streaming etc.

This guide, though not exactly elegant, will return use of your other monitor so the game uses only one instead of two.

Some people have had success with dxwnd - but those solutions never worked for me, nor did they for lots of other people. This guide will show you a different way.

You will need to download a free piece of software called WinExplorer.
You can get it here[winexplorer.software.informer.com].

Unzip WinExplorer and open winexp.exe.

When it opens, you'll see the main interface. Click on Options.

From these options, untick Hide Top Hidden Windows and click OK.


Now start Kane & Lynch 2 from Steam. Once the game has loaded, press Alt & Tab to go to your desktop, and then go back to WinExplorer.

In WinExplorer, click the Refresh button.


In the list, search for [Kane & Lynch 2 window 2]. The list will be in alphabetical order to make it easier to find. Once you have found it, click on it once then click the Destroy Window button.


You will be asked if you are sure you want to destroy the window. Click yes.


The black screen will disappear and you can now play the game on one monitor.

The unfortunate catch is that you must do this every time you start the game - but it works!
