Skirmish Combined Arms MOD

Are you tired of skirmish bots not using machine guns, AA guns, and not enough AT guns? Are you sick of the bots spamming tanks? Yes? So were we.

This mod enables the skirmish bots to use everything available for their faction and with their chosen doctrine.

Bots will purchase machine guns, AA gun emplacements, AT without you needing to have tanks on the field, and more.

The game will feel a lot more diverse and realistic.

YOU AND WHOEVER YOU PLAY WITH WILL NEED THIS MODIFICATION TO PLAY TOGETHER.

First File

Go to the game install directory

Open the resource folder

Open the gamelogic.pak file with WinRAR or a similar program


Open the script folder

Open the multiplayer folder

Open the bot.data.purchase.standard.lua


Any line that has a "--" in front of it that is part of an actual line of code, remove those two "--" dashes.

This "uncomments" the line and makes it so the AI can properly purchase the unit in question.

They are specifically in the HMG section and the AA section for each nation.

There should be around a little over a dozen lines to uncomment.

Save the file and update it in the archive (when you close the file, WinRAR should ask you to update it)
Second File

In the same location as above, open the bot.lua file

Go to line 185

Comment lines 185, 186, and 187 out (just add the "--" two dashes in front of the lines)

This disables the game from checking if your side has tanks so that the enemy will spawn AT weapons either way. It should be that way anyways. They have HE shells for a reason.

Save the file and update it in the archive (when you close the file, WinRAR should ask you to update it)
OPTIONAL Increase Spawn Timer (To Reduce Bot Spam)
This is an optional change that you can make that will increase the delay between each unit being spawned by the bot opponents so that it is less of a constant body wave/onslaught where they continuously just feed more and more cannon fodder towards you.


In the same location as above, open the bot.data.lua file

Go to line 3

Lines 4 and 5 have a default timer settings of 10 and 30. These are the minimum delay and the maximum delay between each new unit being spawned by a give bot (computer controlled player), so you can edit this as you want to either increase or decrease the delay.

In the picture above, you can see that I set the settings to be 15 and 45 (a 50% increase on both the minimum and the maximum) so it means that a bot will wait somewhere between 15 and 45 seconds between spawning new units. In theory, this should also make battles last longer since it is more spread out.

Save the file and update it in the archive (when you close the file, WinRAR should ask you to update it)
