The achievements "Cause and effect" and "Ahead of the tide" are mutually exclusive. For the first one, investigate the attic in the boathouse (the key to the attic can be found in the lodge). By doing so, you won't be able to sail to Dark Rogue anymore - you will have to walk to the island instead. For the second one, immediately sail to Dark Rogue (don't investigate the attic).

Always pick unfriendly options while talking to Josh. During the drowning scene at the end, only pick top options to stay alive. Also, sail to Dark Rogue immediately after meeting Beatrice in front of the lighthouse.



Left behind
Become the ghost on the shore



Always pick unfriendly options while talking to Josh. During the drowning scene at the end, only pick bottom options to die and become a ghost.



Nothing ever really ends
Reach all endings



Get all endings. If you don't want to complete the game four times, you can follow these steps:

  1. Always pick friendly options while talking to Josh. Backup your save files at the end of the game (treehouse). After getting one of the good endings, close the game and replace the file "save_v2_0.dat". Restart the game and go for the other good ending.

  2. Always pick unfriedly options while talking to Josh. Backup your save files after talking to Beatrice in front of the lighthouse. After getting one of the bad endings, close the game and replace the file "save_v2_0.dat". Restart the game and go for the other bad ending.

You can find the save files in "AppData\LocalLow\like Charlie\Ghost On The Shore".

Stand in an outhouse for at least 10 seconds



There are many outhouses on the main island. The first one is at "Holmeswood Cottage":





Lock picker
Unlock the filing cabinet in the school



Open the filing cabinet in the "Halls of Ivy". The key is behind the bookend in the shelf.



Presumptuous one
Try and sneak past Beatrice twice



You can sneak past Beatrice - the visible ghost - exactly two times. The first time is when she appears for the first time - on your way to the beach:



The second time is on Little Rogue, on your way to the lodge:





Safe picker
Unlock the safe in Cordelia's study



The study is in the lodge, downstairs. The combination is hidden behind the Greek sculpture.



For whom the bell tolls
Ring the tavern bell



On Dark Rogue, ring the bell (pull the rope). It's outside the Black Bell, next to the sign board.

There are two mutually exclusive locations in the game - the attic in the boathouse and the Finnegan's Cave. Since both locations come with different collectibles, two playthroughs are required to get all of them. Note: collectibles are additive on multiple playthroughs.

This was so helpful - thank you! I am still missing journal entries after two plays - I used your walkthrough the second time only & I was careful. Was there a tricky journal entry that was easy to miss? Also just out of curiosity - did you ever find out who the boy was in Carrie's photos or why Margo didn't want to go back to the cottage? I feel like I'm missing important parts of the story because of my conversation choices...

Hello, thanks for your guide it's very helpful ! But I can't get the ending "left behind" and I followed all the guide, being mean to Josh all along and choosing the bottom answers during the drowning scene...
