✺What is SWSE?✺
SWSE is a mod that adds around 700 new blocks, 30 resources, 60 components, multiple types of assemblers, 10 planets to explore, 32 premade fighters to build, 5 fuel types with nearly 20 ways to burn it and a unique quest and trade system.

The goal of this mod is to extend the base SE experience with Star Wars themed blocks and mechanisms to add more depth to play.
✺Getting started✺
Alright, what is Space Engineers? In essence, what are we doing here?

Progression
noun
The act of progressing; forward or onward movement.
A passing successively from one member of a series to the next; succession; sequence.
Mathematics: A succession of quantities in which there is a constant relation between each member and the one succeeding it. Compare arithmetic progression, geometric progression, harmonic progression.
Music: The manner in which chords or melodic tones follow one another; a succession of chords or tones.
Astrology: Any of a variety of methods of comparing the natal chart to subsequent planetary positions in order to establish an optimum time to accomplish things or to establish the probable time an event occurred or will occur.

This mod adds refineries and assemblers in progression stages, each requires items from the previous stage built. For assemblers each stage allows you to craft a new set of items, for refineries it speeds up the refining process.

Progression Stage 1
Start by building a "Refinery" and an "Assembler", with those you can build a "Micro Factory Assembler" and a "Light Refinery", these four blocks are considered Stage 1.
The "Micro Factory Assembler" and "Republic Light Refinery" look like this.

Progression Stage 2
Using the components from the "Micro Factory Assembler" build a "Light Factory Assembler" and a "Light Foundry Refinery".
They look like this.

Progression Stage 3
Using the components from the "Light Factory Assembler" build an "Advanced Factory Assembler".
It looks like this.

Progression Stage 3.5
Using the components from the "Light Factory Assembler" build a "Mass Assembler" and use it to replace all assemblers from Progression Stage 1 and a "Resource Processing Facility (Refinery)" that replaces your refineries in Progression Stage 1.
They look like this.

✺Power Systems✺

We can define power as the rate of doing work, it is the work done in unit time. The SI unit of power is Watt (W) which is joules per second (J/s). Sometimes the power of motor vehicles and other machines is given in terms of Horsepower (hp), which is approximately equal to 745.7 watts.

All you do is from and to form power, think about that; drink some milk.

In Space Engineers there are multiple ways to get and store power.
  • Solar and wind
  • Hydrogen gas
  • Uranium fuel
  • Batteries
This is almost the same for Star Wars Space Engineers but more variety.
  • Solar and wind
  • Hydrogen and hypermatter gas
  • Uranium, anthracite, synthetic and exonium fuel
  • Batteries but like lots more

We're going to take a step by step look at each type of power and break down how it is used.

Solar and Wind
Solar power uses the sun to gather power, it must be in sunlight to function.
There are multiple types of solar arrays available, requiring components from Progression Stage 1-3 with outputs to match their higher component requirements.
You can view all solar panels in the Block Variant Group+ under the vanilla solar panel.

The "Hypermatter Accumulator" should be mentioned here, though it is not a power gathering device it functions like a solar panel insofar as it is only operational while exposed to sunlight though it produces hypermatter gas instead of power, this gas must be stored in a "Hypermatter Tank" and burned by a "Hypermatter reactor", you can also fuel up at the NPC Hypermatter Gas Station, a static NPC grid you can visit for fuel.

Hydrogen and Hypermatter Gas
Hydrogen and hypermatter are both gases that are burned for power, hydrogen comes from ice and it is described just above how hypermatter is gathered.
There are multiple types of gas burning engines available, requiring components from Progression Stage 1-3 with outputs to match their higher component requirements.
You can view all gas burning engines in the Block Variant Group+ under the vanilla reactor.

Uranium, Anthracite, Synthetic and Exonium Fuel
Uranium, anthracite and exonium are all mined from the ground. Uranium and Exonium must be refined, however anthracite(coal) is burnt in it's raw state. Synthetic fuel is crafted from PS1.
There are multiple types of fuel burning engines available, requiring components from Progression Stage 1-3 with outputs to match their higher component requirements.
You can view all fuel burning engines in the Block Variant Group+ under the vanilla reactor.

Batteries
There are multiple types of batteries available, requiring components from Progression Stage 1-3 with outputs to match their higher component requirements.
You can view all batteries in the Block Variant Group+ under the vanilla battery.
✺Thrust Systems✺
Originally posted by D. Hatcher Childress, "Ancient Indian Aircraft Technology" In The Anti-Gravity Handbook:
"The Vedas, ancient Hindu poems, thought to be the oldest of all the Indian texts, describe vimanas of various shapes and sizes: the ‘ahnihotra-vimana’ with two engines, the ‘elephant-vimana’ with more engines, and other types named after the kingfisher, ibis and other animals."

Thrust makes you move, in space engineers there are three types of thrusters, atmosphere, hydrogen and ionic. Atmospheric and ionic thrusters require only power to operate and hydrogen requires hydrogen gas and a source of power.

There are multiple types of thrusters available, requiring components from Progression Stage 1-3 with outputs to match their higher component requirements.
You can view all thrusters in the Block Variant Group+ under the "Pirate Thruster".

Aside from variations on basic thrust systems as mentioned above we also have two thruster mechanisms that are unique.

TIbanna Thrusters
Tibanna is a gas that can only be harvested on Bonodan with a "Tibanna Accumulator", this gas is used for upgraded thrust systems(~5x Hydrogen) but burns at a much faster rate, it is stored in tanks made for Tibanna.
To find out more about Tibanna search the word in your G menu, you'll see all required blocks, remember to go to Bonodan to fill up.

Dynamic Repulsors
These thrusters are not part of the main pack, they are an addon mod that is highly recommended.

There are two types of "Repulsorlifts" in large and small blocks, if you use (Ctrl +) you can open an overlay menu to see where the ports are at, you need to place a "Repulsor Upgrade Module" port to port with the "Repulsorlifts"
✺Weapon Systems✺

We have 145+ Available Weapons in the current iteration of the mod.
The main types are
  • Lasers
  • Masers
  • Ions

They have three sizes of weapon for each category, 1x1, 3x3, and 5x5. Their damage and range scales with block size.

Lasers
Your standard damage on target choice, available in 5 colors and does energy-based damage.

Masers
Your alternate damage on target choice, available in 5 colors and does kinetic-based damage.

Ions
Does no damage, but turns off the thruster and gyro systems of your target.

We also have specialty weapons
  • Concussion and Proton missiles
  • Tractor Beam and Interdiction Sphere.
  • Fighter Hangar
  • Designator

Concussion and Proton missiles
Missiles that only cost energy for now, might change in the future.
Concussion does Kinetic, Proton does Energy.

Tractor Beam and Interdiction Sphere
Tractor beam can snag any ship out of the air and hold it fast at various ranges. Capable of pushing and pulling.
Interdiction Sphere makes an area that turns off enemy jump drives.

Fighter Hangar
This is a block made to look like a small ships hangar and is available with rebel and imperial themes and ships. The Fighter Hangar shoots small drones controlled by weaponcore that seek out and attack enemy ships.
Think a missile that never makes impact that shoots at the target instead.
Available in laser, maser, Ion, concussion and proton all shot by unique fighter craft models.

Designator
It looks at grids but doesnt shoot them, had long range targeting for scripts that need WC data.

Durasteel has more health then steel and 10% reduction to kinetic & energy damage.

Phrik and Beskar have same health, more then Durasteel.
Phrik has 50% reduction to kinetic damage and Beskar has 50% reduction to energy damage.

Impervium has highest health and 50% reduction to energy and kinetic damage.
✺Commodity Based Quests & Trade✺
In Space Engineers we trade components, ores and ingots for credits then use those credits to get more components, ores and ingots.
What is to be bought or sold is almost always randomized each time you visit the store and there no depth to trade beyond this.

In Star Wars Space Engineers things are much different.
We have three ways to exchange credits.
  • Trading resources at spaceports
  • Trading commodities spaceports
  • Completing quests at spaceports

The planets of the SWSE galaxy represent a wide range of industrialized and rural worlds with distinction between them to do with what type of economy exists on that world. Consumer and producer economies have things they buy and sell unique to that type of economy and often times, unique to that world.

Let's take a closer look at each of these below but first, we'll go over planetary trade stations.
Spaceports are static grids around the galaxy; one on each planet.
They represent the commerce of the planet they reside on. Inside these spaceports you will find a store block and an assembler that has a droid on it. Interacting with the store block you can do resource trading and interacting with the assembler you can do commodity trading and quests.

✸Resource Trading✸
Trade to do with ores, ingots and components from Progression Stages 1-5 are referred to as resource trading.
PS1-3 can be bought and sold. To find out what is bought and sold around the galaxy see a breakdown in the ✺Planets✺ section.

Step by step guide for resource trading:
  • Check the planet guide for what is sold where
  • Go to a spaceport with resources that are bought there
  • Connect your ship to the spaceport with a connector
  • Enter the spaceport
  • Interact with the store block
  • Buy and Sell at the store block

✸Commodity Trading✸
Commodities are represented by 10 items only applicable to trade with various market values and availability throughout the galaxy.
Listed in order of value:
Food, Minerals, Industrial, Technology, Medical, Military, Spice, Droids, Sentients, Luxury
These Commodities are not used in any crafting, they are only for trade between worlds on hyperspace routes.

Step by step guide for commodity trading:
  • Go to a spaceport
  • Connect your ship to the spaceport with a connector
  • In the Control Pannel tab turn on the NPC assembler
  • Move credits from your ship or player into the NPC assembler in the Inventory tab
  • In the Production tab craft commodities from credits in the NPC assembler
  • Move your commodities from the NPC assembler to your inventory
  • Travel to the spaceport of a world the commodities can be sold at
  • Connect your ship to the spaceport with a connector
  • Move commodities from your ship or player into the NPC assembler in the Inventory tab
  • In the Production tab craft credits from commodities in the NPC assembler
  • Move your credits from the NPC assembler to your inventory

✸Quests✸
"Need a job? Go here, they need this stuff. They are probably going to make you take them to off-world to get paid."
Above is a quest, it's a prompt, a story, a motive that leads you on a journey as a player to shores unknown.

In SWSE quests take you from planet to planet delivering various resources and commodities with a basic plot outlining what you are doing. The morality of these quests varies as do the required amount of material to complete them.

Step by step guide for quests:
  • Go to a spaceport
  • Connect your ship to the spaceport with a connector
  • Move credits from your ship or player into the NPC assembler in the Inventory tab
  • In the Production tab craft quests from credits in the NPC assembler
  • Move your quests from the NPC assembler to your inventory
  • Travel to the spaceport of the world the quest is for
  • Connect your ship to the spaceport with a connector
  • Move quests and materials required for completion of the quest from your ship or player into the NPC assembler in the Inventory tab
  • In the Production tab craft credits from quests in the NPC assembler
  • Move your credits from the NPC assembler to your inventory

✸Abregado-rae✸
Originally posted by https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Abregado-rae/Legends:
Abregado-rae was a major manufacturing and trade-oriented planet, the third of five worlds in the Abregado system in the Core Worlds and the homeworld of the Gados and the Moochers. It sat at the beginning of the Rimma Trade Route, and was also the starting point for the Shapani Bypass or the "Bacta Run". The planet had a reputation as one of the Core Worlds' more rough-and-tumble worlds. It was home to the infamous Abregado-rae Spaceport.

✸Brentaal IV✸
Originally posted by https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Brentaal_IV/Legends:
Brentaal IV, known more commonly as Brentaal, was a planet in the Brentaal system of the Core Worlds's Bormea sector and one that occupied what was arguably the most valuable location in the entire galaxy: the intersection of the Hydian Way and the Perlemian Trade Route, two of the galaxy's major hyperlanes.

✸Kuat✸
Originally posted by https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Kuat/Legends:
"We know how the Kuat household runs Kuat Drive Yards; your family has kept this world one of the richest in the galaxy for generations. It did so under the old Republic, and it continues to do so under Emperor Palpatine."
―Kodir of Kuhlvult

✸Concordia✸
Originally posted by https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Concordia/Legends:
Concordia was one of two moons orbiting the Outer Rim world of Mandalore. A verdant moon possessing dense forests, the Mandalorians originally settled Concordia as an agricultural colony. However, during the time of war, the Mandalorians established a vast number of mining camps on the moon in search of beskar iron, a nearly indestructible metal ore unique to Mandalore and its orbiting satellite.
Concordia is the only planet that has the resource Beskar, used in armor.

✸Dathomir✸
Originally posted by https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Dathomir/Legends:
Although the two cultures most closely associated with Dathomir were the ancient spacefaring Kwa and the Human group known as the Witches of Dathomir, it should not be overlooked that the semi-sentient species at the apex of Dathomir's native food-chain was in fact the mighty rancor.

✸Ilum✸
Originally posted by https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Ilum/Legends:
Ilum was an ice planet in the Unknown Regions, one of the main sources of the valuable Adegan crystals used in the construction of Jedi lightsabers. The caverns containing the crystals were long ago turned into a Jedi temple. Unlike the crystals of other planets, the crystals of Ilum were limited to blue, green and purple in color. The planet was over ninety percent-covered by ice.
Ilum has the resource Kibar, used in lightsabers.

✸Tatooine✸
Originally posted by https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Tatooine/Legends:
"I know little about Tatooine, other than that the planet was heir to an ecological catastrophe in the dim past, and that its vast deserts now support a population of ne'er-do-wells, scoundrels, and hapless spacers of all species. I've heard it said that nothing pans out on Tatooine, and that beings who reside there age prematurely."
―Hego Damask
Tatooine has the resource Phrik, used in armor.

✸Bonadan✸
Originally posted by https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Bonadan/Legends:
Bonadan was the chief port world of the Corporate Sector and the primary world in the Bonadan system, boasting 10 gigantic spaceports. It was a strip-mined planet at the end of the Hydian Way. The densely populated planet housed many exotic species from around the galaxy. Bonadanians found off-world were either from wealthy corporate families or those that had escaped the life of corporate servitude.
Bonadan is the only planet that has the gas Tibanna, used in thrusters.

Having trouble loading the mod in single player i am unsure how to pick the planets featured in the pack. I started a star system but it only had the vanilla planet starts and then a empty galaxy but had zero planets ,i am unsure how to add the planets from the mod, i have all the recommended SWSE mods subscribed and activated.
