I love this guide, but there is just one major problem with it. As a hardcore horror gamer and a hardcore horror lifer, I noticed something was wrong with step number 10 on the Guide for Horror Gamers ("SUICIDE BECAUSE YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE NIGHTMARES"). There is absolutely no reason to dedicate your life to horror if you are going to throw it all away. Rule #1 of being a hardcore horror survivalist is that you should perpetually be living through nightmares and trauma to maintain and/or significantly up your hardcore horror survivalist grindset. If there is no element of danger then you urgently need to place yourself into a dangerous or traumatic situation IMMEDIATELY. Every time you take the trash out; Every time you get food; Every time you turn the lights off; Every time you go to sleep; Every time you breath; Every time you pay your taxes; Every single moment of your existence should be a part of the ultimate horror experience. If you do not leave all of the doors and windows open when you go to sleep, then you are not a true horror fan. If you do not pick-up every suspicious hitchhiker you see while on a road-trip, then you are not a true horror fan. If you do not power-walk at night in the most dangerous suburb in the country, then you are not a true horror fan. Take this advice from a expert hardcore horror survivalist: What's the point in living if you can't die? Nothing. There is no justifiable reason to live life without the danger of losing said life. Now you shouldn't die, because that would end your hardcore horror survival streak, but you should very often almost die. I appreciate you taking the time to read this and I hope you've learned everything you need to know, but be aware that something was watching you this whole time; It should disappear as soon as you turn away.

I appreciate your response.

My examples of various challenges are unsatisfactory and fail to demonstrate a life of constant horror, so I understand why you interpret it as mere thrill seeking.
Also, it is nigh impossible to have horrific experiences at all times and even if one were to achieve this they will eventually become desensitized, causing the element of horror to be lost; The experience would be reduced to mere thrill seeking.

I previously disagreed with you out of misunderstanding, as "Suicide because you can't handle the nightmares" is quite a vague statement. I entirely agree with your sentiment that the frequent nightmares would become monotonously boring and that the hypothetical true horror seeker would commit suicide to have a new experience.

Thank you for your time and your prose.

Thank you for taking the time, I agree with your sentiment to a degree, though I feel like the things you mentioned are more of thrill seeking situations than horror and that is based on personal fears. The easiest thing any true horror seeker could do is finding out what happens after death so not being able to handle the nightmares is defined as being bored of the monotony of having these recurring dreams. Not specifically as a weakness to the person themselves, true horror also can't be achieved in most cases since our basic fundamentals stop us from going beyond them most of the time so what you describe is a miracle in the making. This guide started as a dare between friends "sort of" so I still keep it as a memento of those times but I'm glad it is still getting traction but take the guide with a grain of salt.
