The bridge on the coast...but a bit more normal.

//Requirements//
Nothing should be required as it should all be packed into the bsp. The map file itself should be "gm_coast_bridge_prewar", minus the quotation marks.

Do note that while no game should be required, the size and scope of the map might cause some issues for users on lower end PCs despite rigorous optimization. As well, be aware that despite attempts to prevent conflicts, other workshop items might still conflict with assets used in the map.

//Gameplay//
  • Merge of d2_coast_07, 08 and the beginning tunnel of 09.
  • Repaired and cleaned all the various areas of the map.
  • Water level is raised as well.
  • Some map scripts retained including the train dodge and the exploding tank.
  • Two teleport destinations: one for each tunnel on either side of the map.
  • Nodegraph/AI nodes and navmesh for NPCs. Complete ground and a lot of air coverage.

While in the Gmod Sandbox mode, any dead bodies, blood stains, activated map scripts or other changes can be cleaned/reset using this: Pressing Q -> Utilities -> Admin -> Cleanup -> Cleanup Everything

//Development//
As stated in Coast - Bridge, this was something requested long ago. Thanks as I would need to merge those maps to make this, I made that map. Then it was a bit of a simple switch to something a bit more clean. Also, while I know the ruins of that overpass highway near the second tunnel doesn't really match with my solution, I decided to make it that way in order to match the map of the coast the rebels show you and to make sure the player can get in and out of that tunnel.

The hardest part overall was making sure it ran with okayish frames. The map is big. So I tried a new technique for me and I think it works pretty fine.

//Closing//
This set of Bridge maps was fun to work on. Was relatively simple, straightforward and I learned a thing or two. New maps will come, along with updates to existing stuff.
