"I have no idea what the hell just happened, yesterday i ran my games fine before i went to bed, the next day i wanted to kill time for a couple of hours and my games started slowing down and my radeon thing was acting up. So i updated it and everything went smoothly, i hop back onto Rising storm everything looked fine until i upped my graphics to high cause originally they were low, so i bumped them to high then i get this result. I have no clue what happened i played with the graphics Low,Medium,High and Ultra all came back to this and the intro was cut short and it immediately came to the menu, i cant customize my character, i cant even play with my settings and i cant even find servers and play them. if anyone has dealt with this please let me know cause i would really like to go back on this"

It is also an option found in the OneDrive Settings page, should you choose to use that also. Resort to unchecking the Documents and Desktop folders for now, though, and do not explore that option yet unless you want to globally stop OneDrive.

Another option, in the event you never actually use OneDrive for anything, is to Unlink your account from it.

Alright then. That leaves OneDrive as the only possible culprit.

Look for a blue or white cloud icon on the lower right hand side of the Taskbar, where the Steam icon is. click on it once, go to Settings in the OneDrive context menu, then the Account tab, then Choose Folders.

Under Choose Folders, Uncheck Documents and maybe also the Desktop folder location, and apply these changes.

Part of it was explained in the post below.

Let us start with ruling out Windows Security's Controlled Folder Access.

From the Start Menu or program list, scroll all the way down to the Windows Security listing and click on it to open.

Inside Windows Security, Click on Virus & Threat Protection.

Inside Virus & Threat Protection, click on the link under Ransomware Protection. Is Controlled Folder Access turned on?

This is a known issue, caused by the game failing to write user settings to the Documents folder as it should.

Common conflicts include OneDrive being set to back up and synchronize the Documents folder, and Windows Security's Ransomware Protection in the form of Controlled Folder Access being turned on.

For OneDrive, it must be set to never back up nor synchronize the Documents folder at all, and for Windows Security, either whitelist the game under CFA's Block History, or turn off Controlled Folder Access entirely.
