Introduction
The most commonly used class in the game, the Marksman is a master of long-range attacks and encounters. However this class takes a great deal of skill to use, so it isn't as easy as pointing the Commando's rocket launcher.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In order to efficently use this class, you must have different levels of accuracy, and each "level" will depend on the distance between you and you target. These two levels are; Long-Range and Short-Range.
Long-Ranges and Short-Ranges
This is often the most difficult skill people must learn while being a Marksman. The idea of changing you attack strategies depending on how far away your target (s) are.

Different Ranges

Your approach on attacking long-range should be much different than your approach at short-ranges. While at long-ranges, you shouldn't be trying to quick-scope. You should instead wait into you conscionslly see your reticule on the targets upper-body, and then fire. There are a few waves to help practice this useful skill;

1. Get a rythm

You have to as soon as you start playing, get a feel for how quick you are going to scope in on somebody, then shoot. Too quick a rythm, you'll miss the head or the person entirley. Too slow, and you'll be seen and (probably) shot down.

My suggestion, get a steady rythm for all of your medium to long range shots. This will help your speed and your efficency.

2. Be smart

Don't ever quick scope unless if the target is at medium range. Even then, save the medium range quick-scopes for later when you're more skilled.

My preference, don't quick-scope unless you are at very small range, 20 blocks at most.

This is very important especially with the bolt-action rifle, in which if you miss a point blank shot, the enemy will have plenty of time to kill you with any other gun.

Weapons
While being able to know when to quick-scope or not is important, you also know how to use each weapon and its strengths and weaknesses.

Bolt-Action Rifle

The bolt-action rifle (BAR) is a very powerful weapon able to obliterate anybody in your path (except miners), but also takes skill. For one, you have to be accurate, because of its 8 total ammo and the fact you have to reload every bullet after every shot. In addition, unless you're very good, stay at long-ranges with this weapon, this will keep you out of bad situations.

Tips and Tricks;

1. Stay near drop crates (ammo and health) as much as you can.
Try to stay as close as possible to an drop crate in order to restore you ammo whenver needed. For example, the sppot next to the tower in "Dragon Island" or the 2 towers in "Double Dragon" is a great example. If you like running around and being a mobile sniper (like me) then try to not leave the general area of the crates, or at least have a general knowledge of them.

2. Stay at long-range.
If you are new to the sniper class or have yet to master it, then you should stay longer apart from you enemies, instead of close quarters of combat. Not only will this help keep you alive, but will also help you practice without being owned by the opposing team. *Don't stay so far away you can't hit your target. Stay in a zone where you are in cover but can still effectivley hit your target (s).

Semi-Automatic Rifle

The Semi-Automatic Rifle (SAR) is a powerful weapon that can destroy 2 classes with a headshot (Engineer and Marksman) and 2 hit the others (Miner and Commando). However, this rifle doesn't have powerful scope like the BAR, but it does have about 15-20 bullets in total. This in contrast, calls for a different strategy in order to use efficently.

Tips and Tricks;

1. Stay at long-range
Do not use this gun at long-range! In my experience, it sucks, because of its not-so-powerful scope and the fact that it seems that the bullet doesn't always hit were you aim it to (uncomfirmed) At least in my exeperience, quick-scoping is much harder when using this weapon, mostly because it takes 2 headshots in order to kill a commando.

Pistol

The marksman's only secondary weapon, the pistol is a powerful weapon when used correctly. However, in the newest update, it's damage was slightly reduced, along with its fire rate. This has caused a bunch of people to rant and complain, but they have no reason for it. While the pistol's damage was reduced, it can still 3-hit somebody with a headshot, making it already better than the engineer's SMG.

Tips and Tricks;

1. Dont charge the enemy
Do not pull out this gun and go point-blank to a target. Stay medium-range to the point you can still hit the target, but still have a considerable distance and cover between you and the enemy.

2. Limit this weapon's use
My perference, don't use this weapon unless you're out of ammo. If somebody is apporaching you at medium range and you can't hit the target or you don't have enough ammo, then just take cover and wait for him to pass by, then use your melee.

3. Aim for the head
With the best of your ability, aim for the opponent's head. The body takes a considerable amount of shots to kill, and in that time even the worst player would've found time to at least take cover or shoot back.

Pickaxe

In my opinion, the pickaxe has very few uses in the current game. While it might be more useful for the other classes, the marksman has very few ways to use the pickaxe. It takes 3 hits to kill (unconfirmed) and it hits really slowly. Its only use is mining up blocks, but even that can be accomplished by shooting the block with your pistol. In my preference, don't use this weapon at all, it's just now worth it.

Knife

Possibly my favorite weapon in the game (Apart from the Molotov Cocktail) this deadly melee will take (at most) 2 hits to kill, making it awesome for intrusion missions, stealth, or close range encounters.

Tips and Tricks;

1. Don't charge head on
When somebody is approaching, try to use cover to get around to the back or above your opponent. This willl make it that much harder for your target to react when you slash him/her.

2. Don't spam the button
Wait until you are really close to your target, and then slash him/her. If you are spamming the button, then you'll have a high chance of missing the target completley, giveing the opponent time to react.

Landmine

The most awesome, powerful, and hilariously funny equipment/section/thing in the game. When used correctly (or even uncorrectly for that matter) it will cause an unsuspecting person to blow up instantly! However, most skilled clans disable landmine use, so it must be awesome!

Tips and Tricks;

1. Don't just place it down.
Placing the landmine down in any old spot won't do you any good. Instead, you should do the following;

- Place the mine around corners or at the top of stairs so people don't have time to react, causing them to walk right into it.

-Cover it with a block. Not many people realize this (not to my knowledge) but you can place a block on top of a landmine, and it will still detonate when somebody walk over it. This can be a useful skill, allowing you to efficently wathc over choke points on the map, while you can be somewhere else.

2. Digging.
This skill is most useful if you chose the knife as your melee. If you have to get through a wall that is more than 1 block thick, then you can place a landmine, shoot it with a pistol (back up before you do so) and it will make a gaping hole in the wall, allowing you to walk through.

Author's Note
The Marksman is one of those classes that is super good, and also super bad at the same time. Some people can pop other player's heads across map, while others are helpless while a miner charges at you. My preference (this upplies to eveybody I know, including myself,) some days you are good, and sometimes you aren't so good.

Honestly, knowing all of this stuff about the marksman class won't help you as much as these 2 things.

1. You have to have confidence.
Without confidence, you either try to hard and scope and scope out before you shoot, push yourself, or shoot and then scope in. All of this is inevitable. As long as you play and remember a few key rules, and play to have fun. If you're not haveing fun, then take a break, or just play another game.

2. Use different classes.
If you only use sniper class, then you won't be able to be ready for every situation. For close range maps, use miner and commando, it only makes sense. Only with a large amount of training then you can quick-scope and run around with your sniper rifle like a pro.
