Super Seed Search - A world seed search engine

Bad luck with world generation again? This mod might help out without modifying world generation.

It can search for world seeds which generate vanilla Terraria worlds with specific properties you are looking for. That means the seeds found here can also work without any mods (*).
Or as alternative this mod can also be used to just find some nice worlds with e.g. many Pyramids, a Living Tree near spawn and no Corruption in Jungle biome.


How to enter the seed search mode?
===> click the menu theme text at the bottom of the title screen until you reach the seed search mod theme.


How does the mod work?
During world generation it checks if the world matches the chosen search criteria - if not the mod ends world generation of the current seed and continue with the next seed. Some criteria can be checked at early world generation, some other need more world gen steps and some even the full world generation. Depending on chosen criteria it can be over a thousand times faster than normal world gen or just about the same speed.

(*)tModloader and with this also this mod generate slightly different worlds than in vanilla Terraria. With 1.4.4.9 those differences are very minor and only happen on seed depended x-coordinates. Mostly just different stalactite placement. In rare cases gem-trees.

those seeds don't exist anymore in 1.4.4.9. They moved the snow biome further away from spawn. To be precise it is still theoretically possible but very unlikely. Chances are much lower than the amount of different worlds we can produce.

But you can search for close snow biomes with "point of interest" -> snow surface center
or "Tile/block condition" -> Snow biome tiles

with some constraint like horizontal distance to mid of world

How do I find a seed where I spawn in the tundra?

To generate them: Select one option in "Store world map as picture" at the main settings menu
Their location: They will be generated among your world files folder. Can't find it? The in-game screenshot menu has an option to open the screenshot folder. The world folder will be nearby (one folder hierarchy higher there will be a "world" folder).
How to open them: They are stored in png format, about every image display application can do this
And inside the mod? The mod itself has currently no option to directly display them.

@Metallumere oh , just noticed now. What exactly do you search for? Can't reproduce it. Do you have some other mods running? If you like you can join the discord channel. Easier to resolve some problems there.

Like Dav, I'm also noticing it seems to always hang at "analyse world generation after Reset", no matter what the query or conditions are; certain ore type like copper vs tin, certain moon type, hallow side at dungeon or jungle, etc.
Having no query that happens at reset, it works fine.

@TechSuppportDave "Reset" is the name of the first world gen pass. Looks like you either use some other mod which is not compatible, made some impossible search configuration or found some bug.
If you like you can join the discord server linked on top. Easier there to figure out the problem.

@Ashrak yes there is. Condition Number of mini biomes -> Number of distinct Evil biomes area & constraint 'closer to end of world (ocean) as Dungeon.
This is symmetric it also counts such evil bomes on jungle side. To avoid that we can add constraint 'horizontal distance to Dungeon <= half world width' (click on >= to change it to <= )
This does accept also worlds which have just one evil biome behind the dungeon.
We can add another condition Number of mini biomes -> Number of distinct Evil biomes are and set >= 1 to <= 1.
This only accepts worlds with one (big) evil biome behind the dungeon.
In rare cases we can also find worlds with evil biome at the same location as the dungeon.
To avoid that we can increase the number at 'closer to end of world (ocean) as Dungeon' to something greater than 0. E.g. 100
For medium and especially large worlds this can take a while searching. Those are pretty rare.

Hi I know this is probably a dumb question but it says "Analyse world generation after reset", I'm not sure what it means by that. I restarted the game but I'm not sure what else the "reset" could be referring to... thanks for any response!
