Tired of fixing traffic jams? This mod solves them, but not by attempting to fix the AI. This mod disables collisions between cars (they dont even exist, but the AI checks if they would collide and attempt to prevent it)

NOTE: There seems to be some misunderstanding. This mod disables checks! This lets cars drive into each other so traffic jams wont happen. IT DOES NOT improve collision prevention, it actually does the exact opposite. Cars driving into each other is not a bug, but intended! Here is a short example of what it looks like:

This mod should be compatible for the near future, and I might update it in case it should break.

works great! ty. seems to actually give a few frames back, of course. so, i'm ok with that. beats despawning, but still doesn't resolve the issue. i'd love to learn how to make mods, maybe fix this damned pathing problem.

the traffic ai is utter s**t in this game. i've played vanilla, and modded - the traffic tends toward using center lanes only, regardless of choices available...and will often loop around a "block" to meet its tail, locking traffic. this kills a city. the developers must have had the same issues but couldn't solve it programmatically, so they introduced "despawn cars" then didn't give a way to disable despawning.

so, i'll give this a go, despite the loss in realism...but this game has become a traffic management game, solely. it's not a city builder when all you do is manage the f****** traffic.
