Bank Station Expanded v1.3.3 [v2.5.*]

Description
Bank Stations Expanded
Bank Stations Expanded is a submod that modifies the original mod of the Bank Station.
All credit goes to Sir Mario - the original creator of Bank Station, for the creation of the main mod.

Banks
Banks in this instance are similar in many regards to real life banks. You may put credits into the bank, and over time it will generate credits for free!
Of course there is the risk of the bank being assaulted, so it's wise to be very prepared for that eventuality!

Interest
In the original mod, the interest rate was fixed at 2% no matter how much you had up to the 367 million cap.
This submod makes the interest rates more dynamic, from 8% with 1,000,000 credits in the bank, to 0.1% with 160 billion credits in the bank! Here's a table of the interest rates: The interval between each turn as of v1.2 is no longer limited to once every 5 minutes. The interval is now once between 7 - 30 minutes! v1.3 may see a change where both rates and intervals are mutually adjustable. Please check Upcoming Updates for a basic tabled idea.

Capacity
The main mod's bank capacity was and remains 367 million credits. You'll find in this submod that the cap has been increased multi-fold, and the max capacity is 1 quintillion (1,000,000,000,000,000,000) credits, close to the main cap of the game, which is 2^63 integer. Chances are you would not fill the bank, but I dare you to try without cheating!

Bank Robbers
In Bank Station, every now and then your bank would be attacked by pirates! However an issue that was discovered when you re-log into a server, or when using the Always Running Captain Commands, makes the event spawn for as many times until it has reached the same amount of time that you've been off. - Example: Spawn rates of 15 - 20 minutes, you've been offline for 10 hours and have 300m credits in the bank unwittingly, logging back in spawns in the event as many times as 40 - upto 12 enemies per event, to catch up. When unprepared, this is a major problem. In BSE, it mitigates that problem somewhat and instead spawns them once every 1 - 5 hours. Furthermore maximum enemy ships that can spawn is now capped at 20 per event.
Due to excessive spawn rates, regardless of nerf, and due to its removal from the main mod, the Bank Robber feature has been removed until further notice.

Contents
In this mod, you may find:
  • All contents of the main mod
  • 11 more upgrades
  • Nerfed Enemy Spawn Rates
  • Dynamic Interest Rates

WARNING: You must have Bank Station installed and enabled in game before you can use it!

Disclaimer
I do not take any credit for the creation of the original mod, other than what is presented here. If Sir Mario requests the removal or merger of this mod into the original, I will not argue out of respect.

"...or to send any overflow into your main inventory of credits. That then would defeat the purpose of both my mod and the OG mod. It's meant to be a banking mod, a place to store money to generate interest, not a general passive income mod..." --Kxawzitan

The purpose of the Original Gangsta mod *is* to be a general passive income mod. I quote from the description: "If the account is full, interest payments are added directly to the owning Factions credits."

"Bank Station" sent the overflow into my main inventory of credits. When I later added "Bank Station Expanded", I expected this Expanded mod to behave the same way. I was rather surprised when I noticed that I wasn't getting any money from the bank for a while.

Greetings everyone!
I apologise for the delay in updating to the latest game version, but here it is! Please let me know if the mod has any issues and I will add them to the bucket list for the next update.

- Chances are however, I may not be able to do another update for a while again.

I was trying to convey that the interest/excess only applies to the credits in the bank itself. Something meant to mimic real life banking in that reaching a limit, prevents further gains, aka negating the excess.
I'm not entirely sure of what you mean in "sending the excess credits". The point of the mod, is to make a bank station with a credits capacity - which is what real banks do for accounts like an ISA, while introducing the interest function which only affects what's in the bank, not outside, or to send any overflow into your main inventory of credits. That then would defeat the purpose of both my mod and the OG mod. It's meant to be a banking mod, a place to store money to generate interest, not a general passive income mod - which could in instances be classified as such, but just with banks I suppose.

Imo, bank NOT sending excess credits IS a thing that defeats the purpouse of the mod, but ok.

Apologies for not getting back sooner. I've been very busy of late.
@Kira, no, there is presently no way to disable interest.
@Rune Trantor, I'm not too sure what the problem could be, I used the main mod as a base to work from and altered it to suit how the mod should work.
@Johny Knoxville, overflow? What do you mean? There is no overflow mechanic in this mod, or the base mod. Once the limit is reached, it cannot go any further, and if it did, it'd reach the hardcoded max integer value in the 1e18 range. And the excess credits aren't redeposited into your inventory, it'd defeat the purpose of having the bank station altogether.

Any chances you will bring overflow back?
Kira 25 Apr, 2024 @ 1:02pm
any way to disable interest completely? so we can just have somewhere to store our credits without profit?
Rune Trantor 5 Mar, 2024 @ 1:06pm
I have noticed the Banking screen is not an option if I am like, interacting with the station from a ship. That I have to get into the station itself, then its visible.
Not sure if thats what they mean though.
