S-566 Sabre Nuclear Attack Submarine

Description

The S-566 "Sabre" Nuclear Attack Submarine is a unique submarine in the Newquay Navy. Built as the first experimental fleet ready nuclear submarine, it was commissioned to prove the viability of nuclear propulsion for submarine use. The vessel was built in a hull that had been proven up to that point in use by diesel-electric boats, however, the reactor and steam plant took up significantly more space than the diesel-electric engines and generators. Although the boat proved successful and paved the way for future submarines, like it's fellow successor experimental boat the "Sceptre", it was a cramped boat with limited crew amenities, requiring the crew to hot bunk between shifts. These drawbacks limited additional members of the class being constructed, and deployment times for the boat to avoid crew morale from dropping too low before the end of a tour. Future boats would be larger to facilitate the larger propulsion systems. Despite it's drawbacks, the "Sabre" remains in service to this day and has been retrofitted as new technology becomes available, the most notable of which being the newly produced UUM-3 "Slingshot" Torpedoes being standard issue on the boat.

HOW TO USE:

Reactor:
-Go to the control room and turn the pumps on
-Turn on the reactor
-Wait for the boiler to start building up pressure
-You're good to go

How to operate torpedoes:

- Enter the desired GPS coordinates in the keypad
- Enter the desired depth in the small keypad (I suggest keeping it at 0)
- Arm the torpedo(es) you want to fire
- Press the fire key
