What are spark plugs for / where do I find them?
Spark plugs are found as random drops on zombies, dumpsters, on the ground etc. They are not found from hitting cars while salvaging scraps. They are used as a component to create the Item Salvager tool.

What is the Item Salvager and what can be salvaged?
This tool is made at a basic work bench and is used to recycle unwanted objects and returns metal, brass, plastic and wood depending on objects recycled. Currently guns are the primary objects that can be salvaged (a few other items can also be scrapped) but more is planned for the future. When in doubt; just try to scrap something.

I can't craft the Item Salvager but have all of the parts?
One variant requires a Blue car battery, the other requires the Orange (color is the only difference). Additionally make sure to have the required tools (in addition to the component pieces). Make sure all parts are in the inventory of the workbench before attempting to craft.

What is the "Box of Nails" for?
Right click and 'open' it to receive 25 nails. Nails are used to build various items at the work bench. Nails can also be crafted with metal at the Anvil tool.

How do I get into Bunker 11/24 and the flower shop?
Keys are hidden amongst a few locations throughout the map. Whether or not they appear at any given time is random (but the possible locations are the same). The #tips-and-tricks section of the Discord has a map pinned with all known locations.

What's inside the shipping crate hanging over the junk yard (the crane)?
Nothing yet.

How do I get metal(s)?
1. Hit cars to retrieve scrap
2. With a wirecutters in your inventory; walk up to a light post and 'salvage'.
3. Put recyclable objects in the Item Salvager

Where do I find ______?
Chances are it's a random drop. Keep looking and you'll find it.

What is ______ used for?
Some items in the world are only used for selling to traders. Such items include orange car batteries, flash drives, floppy disks, etc. The Twinkle Pastry can be eaten as a regular food but holds more value when sold to the food vendor, he really likes them.

Can I stash things in dumpsters, on bodies, etc?
Yes but not for long. They will de-spawn each night.

What is the best food to keep stock piles of?
Bananas for a well-rounded use case. Pumpkins for greatest quantity of hunger revived.

How can I loot faster / Is there anything better than 'drag and drop'?
Hold the CTRL button on your keyboard while clicking items being looted.

How do you climb ladders?
You cannot currently climb ladders (during early access at least) but this will become available upon full release.

What do the different numbers for armor rating mean?
The first number is the general armor points for the gear item. The second number (in parenthesis) is the value against armor piercing ammo. Ex: A trench helmet of "10 (2)" provides 10 points to general causes of damage such as zombie hits and the (2) protects from AP bullet damage.

What is the best weapon for _____ ?
Mining rocks: Pickaxe
Chopping wood: Fireaxe Guitar
Scrapping metal: Any 'sharp' weapon (Loosiele, Fireaxe, etc).
Meelee: (See damage ratings on item)
Additional Notes: The Holy Sword, Captain's Rapier, Cutlas and Odachi are much better for all those purposes but less commonly found.

How often does the airdrop occur?
The first plane will spawn 15min-2hr into initial gameplay and subsequent planes will spawn 1-3hr thereafter.

How long do airdrops last?
Airdrops will de-spawn or disappear after 30 minutes.

Where can I hunt?
The best areas for hunting are on the Eastern side of the map within the wooded areas and farthest away from the small towns. The deer population is fairly sparse and they will run if spotted, so don't get discouraged if you can't find them quickly.

What do you do with the Raw Meat?
Raw Meet can be cooked by 'opening' a camp fire (buildable at crafting station) and adding the meat to it. After ~1min the food will become prepared as Cooked Meat which cures hunger but doesn't cost HP.

What do the skills do / how to earn skill points?

Gameplay / Settings Types Explained:
PvP: Players can kill and raid each other by destroying barricades.
PvP No Raid: Players can kill each other but cannot destroy any players' barricades.
PvE: Players cannot harm each other and cannot destroy any players' barricades.

Admins are always able to permanently delete props in the world.
Players who placed an object are always able to pick them back up.
Except for PvP; players are not even able to damage their own props.
These rules function the same in single player and multiplayer.

How do I host private or coop servers?
When starting up a server leave the setting for "Make Server Public" disabled so the server does not appear in the main list. Your friends will then enter your game via the 'Steam Friends & Chat' 'Join Game' option.
During Early Access; simply limiting the max amount of players in the server will not prevent others from joining.

How do I find out someones name?
You either ask them or read it on their dead body. There are no plans to add usernames on the living (hovering over head / etc.)

I keep getting killed, how do I stay alive?
Sneak more, run in the middle of the street less.

What's the best gun for PvP?
1. The one you have ammo for
2. The one that has a silencer
3. The one that fits the needs of your mission
Assuming all those criteria are met try this:
Bunker Raiding: Any sword
Player Base Raiding: AK is slightly better than M4
General Supply Runs/Looting: Mosin (they're common and powerful, losing your gun on death isn't very detrimental)
Base Defense: Anything

What is the difference betweek the AK203 and the AKM?
AKM has slightly higher rate of fire and slightly more recoil.
AK203 has slightly less rate of fire and slightly less recoil.
Which is better? Personal preferences...

What is the difference between the SCAR-H and SCAR-L?
Ammo type. L is 5.56 and H is 7.62.

How do I quickly reload during a fire fight?
Pre-pack some spare magazines and use "R". Using R without additional loaded mags will not work.

How do I shoot faster (full auto)?
Guns that support full auto default to semi-auto. The default button to select fire is "B".

There are two 9x19mm suppressors in the game: what's the difference?
The short 9mm sup. works on the 1911 and the long sup. works on the Vector.

How can I craft armor piercing ammo?
AP ammo can only be acquired via random drop. If you do not use a given type of AP ammo it can be recycled in the Press tool for brass and gun powder.

What's the best way to secure a base?
There's nothing you can do to fully stop someone who truly wants to get in- all you can do is buy time and test their will to bother raiding you. Here are some broad tips to help:
1. Your base is only as strong as it's weakest point. Making a 'bigger' base doesn't make it stronger (it may actually make it weaker)
2. There's no need to wall off windows if people can't fit through them. It's cheaper to board them up (to prevent people seeing in) than using full metal/wood/brick walls.
3. Metal > Brick > Wood
4. Get a Base Flag up ASAP. Prevent people from building into your zone.
5. If you don't have a roof you don't have a base.
6. Leave some select 'cracks' to shoot through. If you can't shoot out of your base you won't be able to defend it from inside.

How do I save my base?
Base fortifications don't really de-spawn from the world unless your base has been raided by another player who destroyed your walls/doors. You can craft a "Base Flag" at the basic work bench. This flag, when placed, will prevent other non-team members from building in the zone and can add teammates to the base who may build and respawn at its location. There's an option to see the radius of your buildzone while interacting with the flag - check it quickly though as everyone nearby will also be able to see it.

My team saved the base with a base flag but only I can open doors!
To allow teammates to use shared doors follow these steps:
1. All players gather around the flag, the closer the better
2. Whomever placed the flag should choose "Update Ownership" and then "Add Players" and then "Update Ownership" one last time for good measure.
All other players in range should now hear a triumphant trumpet confirmation sound.
3. Each of the other players must then approach the flag and choose "Update Ownership" to accept their role in the base
If you ever need to add more players to the flag, all players must be present for the addition.

During early access this system is slightly buggy and will be improved in the future. If this process doesn't work the first time try repeating it until each player can open doors.

Sometimes I have to damage Workbenches, Anvils, etc. found the world to pick them up. Can I do this to steal another player's _____?
No. The "Damage ___ To Pick It Up" only works on randomly spawned objects.

What are the different server colors for?
White: Standard community hosted servers
Red: Official dedicated servers
Blue: Official dedicated servers which require verification (see official Discord)
Green: Community hosted servers which require verification

How big is the development team?
So far it's a one man project brought to you by Kamron#0024.

What are the player models/art style from the game?
The models are from Synty Studios. Kamron (the dev) owns every pack they offer and pieces from each can be found throughout the game.

Will there be more/bigger maps?
Yes, they are being worked on right now (June 2022).

Will this game support Steam Workshop or other mods?
The developer has expressed on a number of occasions that this feature is planned and the community will be able to mod. This is a somewhat distant goal but will be available.

Unreal Engine via C++ and BluePrint.

How do I get the scythe?
Open the Press tool and hover over the blank squares to the left of each ammo type. It's hidden in one of them. Crafting only requires a small amount of wood and metal.

What's with the "Georgie" sewer?
Place items in the sewer where the first letter of each object spells out "Clown". Try not to freak out.

Where do you get a Holy Sword?
The burnt cross outside of the church is where you can summon the Banshee boss (if the cooldown timer isn't active). This boss generally requires 2 mags of ammo and plenty of health kits to beat. Once dead she drops the Holy Sword and some additional loot.
Pro tip: turn down your audio and prepare for AOE attacks.

How do I get into Undercity
This area is unavailable as of version 0.0.5b.2. The location of the doorway is under the 'broken bridge' and at the Southern most point of the bridge. Undercity is a reference the Warcraft's capital city for the Horde.

With full health and while wearing a cardboard wings accessory; jump from a tall height and survive the fall (should only have a small amount of HP left).

Maze Master #1
You completed the first maze
Make it to the "Dead End" sign at the end of the shipping container maze on the crashed tanker ship at the bridge.

Ground Floor
The quickest way down.
"Fall" do your death by sliding down a steep incline (on a hill). Do not 'jump' off, instead you must naturally slip off a un-climbable hillside. It is not currently clear if you must be wearing cardboard wings.

Anyone who enjoys zombie-based literature should know the two main rules of creating new zombie themed content:
1. Characters never use the term 'zombie' to reference the undead beings plaguing them
2. Always pay homage to the zombie culture which came before you

The Walking Dead: Rick's Coma
The first season of The Walking Dead (along with the comic books) begins with the main character, Rick, waking up in a hospital from a coma. Rick is known for his signature sheriff's hat throughout the series. In DeadPoly the second floor hospital always spawns a sheriff's hat in a lone patient room.


The Walking Dead: Negan's Bat
One of Rick's worst protagonists in The Walking Dead is "Negan". Negan is known for his brash and brutal leadership along with his barbed wire bat which he calls "Lucille". In DeadPoly you can easily find a similar bat with a similar name... "Looseal".


Zombieland: Tallahassee's Twinky
In the movie "Zombieland" Woody Harrelson plays an eccentric cowboy with a love for Hostes Twinkies. Throughout the game you may be lucky enough to find a "Twinkle Pastry" which can be sold to the cowboy hat wearing man in the grocery store for a hefty price. The dude just loves his Twinkies...

Left4Dead: Witch
Valve's game "Left4Dead" features a boss character known as the Witch. Anyone unlucky enough to have crossed paths with DeadPoly's Banshee knows all too well the similarities in appearance and screech between these two enemies.

Valve's "Left4Dead" series also features a brute-force style boss which they title the "Tank". DeadPoly's "Big Boy" bears a striking resemblence:


Max Brooks: The Zombie Survival Guide
Max Brooks, son of director/comedian Mel Brooks, wrote a satirical book titled "The Zombie Survival Guide" (which happens to be a decent survival guide none the less). Within DeadPoly player's may stumble across "Sabre's Zombie Field Guide". This is both a nod to Max as well as Sabre from DeadPoly's development (Sabre being the first player to defeat the Banshee).
