Consider this still work in progress: at the moment one achievement seems bugged, and I haven't cleared paths not leading to achiemements.

Short guide on how ship battles work.

You and your enemy take turn attacking each other until one of the ships has been destroyed.
Usually enemy strike first, but sometimes you have the opportunity to surprise your enemy.

During your turn you have basically 3 options:

• attack using lasers or other missiles
  
• adopt defensive actions (replenish shields, increase evasion, etc..)
  
• move near or away from your enemy

During enemy' turn basically you can only throw dices trying to avoid their attacks.

After the battle:

• If you WON:
  
  • you can destroy enemy ship
    
  • you can assault ship (with an encounter) and salvage it
• if you LOSE:
  
  • you must defend (encounter) your ship from assaulter.

Then eventually you can repair your ship.


In the HUB between before exploring a planet you can upgrade your ship. In my longest run i upgraded lasers to maximum and I ended destroying enemies in one single turn.
