Want a true "survival mode" experience? Play mission 3, Peace of Mine. At the start of the mission, press the tilde key and type in "supply 250" [without quotes]. Get ready for the true Outpost 29 from Starship Troopers the movie experience.
Set up your defenses and get ready for that first wave. After your first taste, you'll see the true potential of this. You can create your own survival mode by increasing the amount of supply between each wave. Start the mission with "supply 15" and if you survive the first wave, do "supply 15" again. Keep doing this after every wave to increase the bugs and see just how long you can hold out before the base is overrun.
I'd suggest playing the mission normally until you unlock the hoppers if you REALLY want the film experience.
PS. You can also spawn in other units than the basic rifle troopers, as well as additional bug units such as tankers. Just check the Guides above for the other console commands
