Introduction
As you know Left 4 dead is a Cooperative shooter, meaning that it requires an actual team work.

Although nobody is stopping you from rushing the whole campaign alone, but be prepared for the consequences.
Specials
In the game there are only 8 special Infected, you can also divide them by classes.
  1. Aggressive
  2. Support
  3. Neutral
The Aggressive being:
  • Smoker *
  • Hunter *
  • Jockey *
  • Charger
  • Tank
The Support being:
  • Boomer
  • Spitter
And Neutral being
  • Witch
Dealing with Specials
To put it simply, there is no right way to deal with them, you have a freedom of choice. Shoot them, slice them, or even shove them to death. Play the game as you want, and remember to have Fun!
(NOTE: Shoving does *NOT* stun chargers.)

As said earlier some of the special infecteds can be shoved when they pin a survivor (They are marked with * in special section) When timed correctly, some specials may not even get a hold on the survivor, but be aware that you only shove them, dont forget to kill them afterwards.
Right Mouse Button
Don't forget about the existence of that particular mouse button.
Left 4 Dead may be a typical First Person Shooter, but theres more to it than that.

The right mouse button allows you to well, shove.
Shoves are mostly used against common and some special infected.
The best use for shove is when:
  • You're surrounded by commons
  • Hunter or Jockey has pinned one of your team mates
  • Smoker tounged one of your team mates
  • Boomer is too close to the team
(note: DOES NOT work against chargers)
Divided we fall.
As you probably heard before, cooperation is the key.
Pushing forward alone without caution can lead to some unforseen consequences.

Splitting up far away or in closed areas during a horde, will not always have a good outcome, if you dont have a direct line of sight with the team mate.

Better stay together when the horde is coming, you can always search the area later.
Sharing is caring
You can share your 3rd item slot items to your team mates by aiming their way and pressing right mouse button.

Don't save your pain pills for an emergency, give it to fellow team mate with low health, there will be plenty of pills on the campaigns.
Gas and Propane tanks
Do.
Not.
Shoot.
Them.
Near.
The.
Team mates.

yes I'm making that section just for you Drake.
Helping Up
As you know, helping others up is VERY important for keeping track of the team, finishing most objectives, and getting to safe houses. You can pick your team members up by holding whatever key it you have binded to your keyboard, usually E, and help them up. It is also recommended to use a spare medkit on the team member you helped up, if you or a teammate are not low yourself (prioritize the revived teammate, if you are above 15HP.) Note that any damage dealt to you will stop the animation, as you need to defeat the threat(s), in order to get them back on their feet.

If the event in which you are downed, do not fret. You start with, temporarily, 300 health, and most damage cases in your incapacitation hurt you minimally EXCEPT A POUNCING HUNTER AND MASS COMMONS! as your own team can finish them off in a matter of seconds. Your health does tick down in intervals of three, but almost every team member won't forget, and help you up to fight once more. You can also call over teammates and other voice lines with X and C, to remind them you are there.

  • Do not forget your teammates. They will hate your guts if you decide to make them Left 4 Dead™
  • Make sure there is no active horde, pouncing Hunter, or Tank (at least with his throwing objects) on a teammate at the time. As you prioritize healing them up after the revival.

Also, predicting teammates movements and where they may shoot will help you not lose -80hp during expert lol.

it's ideal to leave one last medkit in the saferoom, in case some shit goes wrong the moment you start a chapter.
