Job of a Lifetime
So you've paid off uncle, fixed the hotel, talked to James, got scammed by the Mayor and now you are ready to tackle the Job of a Lifetime. So what do you need, and where? Well this quick guide will show you the locations and needs of each work site, and throw in a little trivia and side information as well. So let's get going!
Work Site 1
To begin with, this is the order the game had me work on the sites. It may not be in the same order your game has you do them in, and you don't even have to do them in the order the game wants you to. As long as you finish all five work sites, you will complete the task.

So, where is work site 1? For me it was right next to the furniture factory. There are seven cabins that need to be completed. The total number of planks you will need for this site is 764.

Pretty straight forward, and exactly like the other two construction jobs you did for James. Except this time he doesn't loan you his lorry (flatbed). You will need your own.
Work Site 2
My second work site was near the polluted lake. As a side note, you should complete the replanting quest from Logan before doing any of the Mayor quests, to ensure you have access to the stump grinder and sapling planter. Without those two tools you cannot get Fisherman III.

There are six cabins at this site and you will need a total of 668 planks to complete it.

Work Site 3
My next work site was near the North West General store. More fun facts: There are two cabin designs, a 2x3 and a 3x2. The 2x3 (2 wide, 3 deep from the porch) needs 112 planks to complete, while the 3x2 (3 wide, 2 deep from the porch) only needs 108 planks to complete. The reason is the 2x3 has 2 extra build points for the porch roof as compared to the 3x2.

There are 6 cabins to complete here (4 near the playground and 2 next to the hotel). You will need 652 planks to finish this site.

Work Site 4
My fourth work site was the cabins near the north fuel station. There are 4 cabins here than need completing. There is one cabin here that doesn't have a door to build, but the rest are all your run of the mill cabins. You will need 428 planks to finish this site. Next fun fact: If you do not build any of the doors on any of the cabins, you can save 112 planks in the finishing of this task.

Work Site 5
The fifth and final site is just east of the mayor's hotel on the north east corner of the lake.there are six cabins to finish here, requiring a total of 660 planks. Final fun fact: when building the cabins, if you build the indicated site cabin last you can occasionally see the quest marker jump to each other cabin in rapid succession before the quest advances. During that brief interval if you are fast enough you can interrupt the quest progression by pulling up your skills menu. If done on the last site, at the right time, you can repeatedly "finish" the quest be talking to James multiple times. Each time he will pay you $200,000, but you will only ever owe the mayor $100,000. It takes timing, but doing this can get you enough money to buy every forest and every piece of equipment in the game.

Conclusion and Totals
In conclusion, because of the slow build speed of your character, all the excessive driving from point a to b, and the fact that there are just so many sites to complete, this task will take you a few hours at least to complete. Completing it nets you a hefty reward from James, though you will lose half of it to the Mayor as soon as you talk to him after completing this task.

Total Cabins: 29
Total Planks needed: 3172
Money Reward for completion: $200,000 ($100,000 after paying Mayor)
Social Points awarded for completion: 20,000

Now go talk to the mayor and finish the quest line. Finishing this task opens up the path to the endgame quest lines.

I seem to remember other work sites existing. If you have a work site not listed above please let me know!
