WELCOME TO THE INTERN- I mean, to yet another way to early Draconia guide!

Today we will be taking a closer look at lore! Yes, we don't know much about it yet, the story and all the exciting things are yet to be developed. And still, we can explore some small bits of lore that bring some interesting facts to light.

Grabble some popcorn and a cool drink of your choise, and let my assistent Rubinfeder tell you what she has found!

"Greetings young beast. My name is Rubinfeder, Reeka of Aphtaria Hawa and Seeker of Knowledge. Today, I will be your guide, telling you what I have found and teaching you a few things about the world I call my home. And for those who might wonder, I love chest scratches!
Excuse my often mean look, it's how my feathers fall. I am just very curious and would never peck you."
The Story so far
"Let us begin with what is currently going on on my beloved home island! When you talk to some of the Ka'sai around, mostly the hunters in Jagron Tajo, you soon find out that there is something odd going on in the islands heart."

"The wild beasts are behaving strangely on Daziban. The normally very territorial Scarroks start to wander around and leave their homes, even leaving their hatchlings behind despite being social hunters that take good care of their young normally. The Yggaron become more and more aggressive and directly attack the hunters and their camp!"

"Even the gracious Kylan are effected, fleeing their normal grazing locations and seeking shelter near a farm east of Dunarth. Will you help to find out what is going on and soothe whatever unruly power lies behind all this? Please, Dazibans creatures deserve the balance we had before all this..."
The Lore behind Settlements
Aphtaria Hawa
"Aphtaria Hawa is a little village you and many other little dragons first see the light of our world. That also includes me, albeit I did not hatch in the nursery under Orieth's careful watch. Orieth is the spiritual daughter of Aphtaria, the Ka'sai that founded this place as a sanctuary for lost hatchlings and those in need. The settlements name means Aphtaria's Hope."

"We will talk about many things you can find out here, either from notes that lie around or from the villagers that live here, Ka'sai and dragons alike."

Dunarth
"Dunarth is another village on Daziban, directly above the cliffs of the north coast. It was originally meant to be an outpost for the hunters but quickly became bigger and turned into the village that it is now, all thanks to its two founders, the hunters Velyon and Sasz."

"Speaking of, these two were real idiots. Most other hunters did not like their company, I heard sending them out to find a new location for an outpost was just a try to get them far away from the others for a while. But they made a funny story of how Dunarth was founded. They shot two arrows in the sky! And the place one of these arrows was found is now the house at the very top of the cliffs, above the fields. And since they were hunters, I assume this is why this place if known for growing many delicious mushrooms and good beverage!"

Athyne
"Lastly, I want to say a thing or two about the capital city of Altuis, Athyne. Athyne is a big city at the north of Eztalin, the red island. This place is still a big mystery to me, since I haven't really visited it myself, but my friend Rubinra did multiple times. She told me about the gardens, the trading area and took me to the library once! Oh how I wish to visit the library again one day, it has so many scrolls to read!"
Jobs and Culture of the Ka'sai

"During my journeys, I learned a lot through scrolls scattered around in houses, lonely and village alike. Different people have made them, villagers, scavengers, explorers like me. I am sure that I haven't found all of them yet."

Companions
"One of these is about eggs. Fyrrwin Eggs to be exact! Sadly, it comes with bad knews for the babies. The house for incubation had a leak, rain fell down on the eggs and two have died off."

"It seems that the Ka'sai, the people of these villages, raise or even breed dragons. And Fyrrwins need a waterproof place for their eggs!
I believe that they keep the hatchlings in pens like this one, my friend Rubinra found during one of her journeys on an island far far away from us. I wish my wings were as strong as hers!"

"Anyways, young Fyrrwins are not the only creatures the Ka'sai take care of! Scarroks aswell, I think they are these cute puppies of a dragon, drakes. They also seem to be quite the trouble makers, as the note about them says that 'it is NOT okay to bring juvenile Scarroks into this village.'!
Furthermore it says, that they are raised and trained by hunters, so I asume that hunters do not live directly in the villages to take better care of their Scarok companions without them tearing the other houses apart. Or end as food, refering to the last bit of that note."

"Lastly to this topic, me. I too am a companion to Ka'sai in a way. You see, my neighbour Artax is not the biggest fan of Reekas like me, I am not innocent when it comes to his barrels full of Sorboras suddenly being all empty over night to be honest. Through their note we learn that we are what you'd call carrier pigeons, just for more than cute little love letters."

Shiny Ocean Treasure
"What does confuse me on the other hand is another note refering to Drakes as, well, Drakes. But lets put that aside and take a look at the beach and ocean. Some Ka'sai are good at diving and even dive for pearls for a living. But that isn't exactly an easy job. The billboard note 'Hokuras bite' is a clear warning from said beasts, which one poor diver lost an arm to! No diving alone, safety first."

"After a long day of collecting sea shells at the beach, Mytelias in particular, I came across a lonely fishermans hut. Inside I've found notes left by a scavenger, one even about my sea shells! Apperently, baby dragons love these as treats, even though they are so bitter."

"I don't like the taste at all, so when I come across a young Yamati, I'll give them all my Mytelias to not end as a snack myself! Ka'sai seem to collect these things mainly as snacks to feed and train their young dragon companions, so I wondered if these Ka'sai are special dragon trainers or just ordenary people like the fisherman that lives in this little house."

"Ka'sai have a strong connection to the dragons and other creatures on Altuis, using many of their materials such as bones, teeth, or scales from Kirin and Stonebacks, but are also talented craftsmen. We'll talk about these in particular later, since the materials they use have some interesting facts about them themselves."

Myths like our own
"Funnily, a little myth came to my attention through another note called 'Tradicional Medicine'. Some Ka'sai make powder out of Vodros claws and make tea out of them."

"It is believed that this makes their horns grow longer, which seems complete nonsense but hints to a sign of good health or beauty standard amongs the Ka'sai. The note is about a female Ka'sai wanting some claws just for that, but the autor of it, a salesman, does not sell any. Since they said they cannot afford them, Vodros claws must be quite expensive. So we also learn that dragons are not only friends, but in some cases also hunted by Ka'sai or at least stalked, so they can snatch off some materials. I hope they are not so stupid and fight a grown Vodros..."
Secrets of Materials

"Now to the crafting table! As you can see on the table, Ka'sai smiths know how to make pretty shiny coins! And not only that, the crystals from the other table are materials for their tools and weapons."

Bloodrage from Bloodstone
"Let's first talk about the red stuff, Rubenite, the gem after which my family is named for our blood red feathers and scales. Rubenite used to be the default material for weapons due to its hardness and berserk powers."

"But whoever held such a weapon could quickly turn into a bloodthirsty monster! Just holding a big chunck can fill you with rage! All stated on a crafting note Rubinra gave me after one of her journeys. The crystals not only make you rage if you're not careful, they also rise up your pain resistance, making the little pieces or powder a good painkiller. But even as that it is rarely used nowadays."

Strength and Magic
"My personal favorites are Kitrinite and Porphurite. They are more likely to be made into weapons then Rubenite, as they strengthen the wielder in a less dangerous way.
Golden Kitrinite makes you stronger in general, while Porphurite turns you into a powerful wizard. But the note from Rubinra says, that Porphurite lets users hear "eerie sounds" when using these things for too long, so beware when holding such a weapong yourself."

Lick crystals for health..?
"Now to the most valuable crystals, Viridite and Azulite. Funnily, there are the first two crystals that I could find on Altuis. Ka'sai smiths are happy for Azulite bits, as tools crafted with this material are harder to break when worked with. Combined with other crystals like Kitrinite, this can become very powerful when forged into a sword or axe!"

"Viridite is less for crafting tools, but healing items. It is mostly found underground in caves and, when in the hands of a Ka'sai, quickly finds its way back there. Gardeners burrow the crystals near their crops to strengthen them against parasites and other harm. Some gatherers do lick Viridite Crystals as part of determiting the value of a piece. Weird, isn't it? But common practice."
Food and Dishes
"After all that I am getting hungry, so let's head to the bakery and talk about snacks! In Aphtaria Hawa alone we can find a variety of food, from cupcakes to juicy grilled ribs. Let me tell you something about this bread for example. It is made out of a vegetable called Solaniam, very common in most gardens. They are not the tastiest bits I've eaten on my journeys, but I like always having some on me in case I meet Seagull again. Other Ka'sai keep some on them aswell, as an old saying goes as follows. 'The older it gets, the harder it hits!'. So elderly Ka'sai won't hesitate to shoo you off by using the baguettes as weapons, should you ever dare to disturb them."

"On the other side here, we have meat! Here we don't have much to say, it's just cooked meat and fried egg- wait, those are REEKA EGGS! Oh my, I hope they were never about to hatch in the first place, Ka'sai usually keep an eye out for that. And that stick with bits of meat on it, that it commonly known as a 'Speared Reeka', while luckily not containing actual reeka meat. Mostly."

"Ok, this gives me a bad feeling, and the big oven is making this place quite hot. Grab a snack and meet me by the camp fire, because now it's getting really spooky!"

Note Locations
"If you want to find all the notes too and read them by yourself, I will show you their locations!"

Billboard Notes
"Just between the hatchery, the enclosure and the big camp fire it Aphtaria Hawas billboard. The notes some Ka'sai put up there are..."
  • "IMPORTANT"
  • "Not Waterproof"
  • "Help Needed"
  • "Hokura's Bite"

Aphtaria Hawa
ADAYA'S Note

"Just a few steps further from the billboard, across the gardens, is Adaya's Note. You can find it on a little stool directly at the house where Adaya and Viraela live."

ARTAX'S Notes

"If we follow the path to the south, we come across the village kitchen with all the tasty food we've talked about earlier! On the small table I'm sitting at is one of Artax's Notes. Grab them quickly! I don't want to become his new dish!"

FELLURIA'S Note

"In the house next to Artax's kitchen lives Felluria. Felluria has their own struggles since their significant other asked them to move in together. So cute yet so painful, as it can be tough to move out from the place you lived at your whole life."

TRADITIONAL "MEDICINE"

"Next, we come to the table with supplies like bags. The right scroll is about the Traditional "Medicine" we have covered here too. And there are a lot of fancy flasks I want to try, the drinks do look tasty!"

VIRIDITE QUALITY CHECK

"Lastly, next to the previous note, there is that building with many cool things like crsytals, mushrooms and more. The table with the fiery mushrooms at the bottom has the note about the Viridite Quality Check. And I can confirm by now, these crystals do taste a bit like earth from Eslyley."

Open Area
ZENWYR'S Note

"Just outside of Aphtaria Hawa, a bit uphill lives Zenwyr. He is a gardener and also knows a thing or two about Yggaron. You can find Zenwyr's Note on the table with these big seeds next to his house. Why do people always leave thei notes outside their houses?"

KARASZ & BRYELLE'S Notes

"Karazs and Bryelle are no better on that! They also leave their notes on the tables outside of their house at the beach. Coasts are windy! Anyways, Karasz's Note is on the bigger table to the left, Bryelle's Note on the small one on the right. Their house is at Sonotal Cara, it's the one I came across collecting sea shells, remember?"

JOLIAKO & KENTYO'S Notes

"Another Ka'sai duo lives near the big tree on a hill above the Vast Cuyuro portal. They are 2 herbalists with tasks that couldn't differ more. While from Kentyo's Note we learn that they are determined to find the best growing conditions for Simmatres herbs, Joliako is all about SPICE!"

VARGAL'S Note

"On the other side of the tree, in Ziet Waresz, we can find Vargal's Note in the farm house. Vargal lives here and is taking care of a herd Kirin. One of them behaves oddly, I want to know what's going on and what role the Yggaron play here."

Athyne Library
POEMS and BACKER Notes

"The Library of Athyne is a special place for researchers like us. It bears interesting stories and poetry, such as the 6 dragon poems written on the blue scrolls and the first stories written by special people who helped our creators to let this world I live in come true."

"The poems, each dedicated to one of the 6 big dragon species are..."
  • "Celestial Dance", Fyrrwin.
  • "Celestial Dance - Sunborn", Tecatl.
  • "Beneath the Veil", Gaulung.
  • "Crystalline Dream", Yamati.
  • "Yxolia's Quest", Yggaron.
  • "Fire of Igneryos", Vodros.

"On the other side of the librarys hall are the pink scrolls, written by backers. At the moment there are 2, the scrolls of Mewzie and Alkazair, which are connected to each other. They tell the stories of a Kirin mother and her daughter protecting their home, a mythical forest, and the end of the fighting against invading Gaulung beneath an eternal storm and a cursed mountain. While they are not 'canon' and rather fiction within this world, I like reading them every once in a while."
Ka'sai Vocabulary
"Now to a more technical and also quite unconfirmed thing. Ka'sai language. When you explore Altuis' islands you find many things and might think 'hä?', just like me. So we put our bean brains together to find out what those funny words might mean. But we cannot confirm how accurate we are here, yet we want to share our work anyways."
