Yellow Alert Gameplay Lite (WOTC)

Description
Requires Yellow Alert Gameplay V2.0 by RedDobe
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1964595004

This mod contains INI changes for RedDobe's Yellow Alert Gameplay to make engagements more fair and overall less overwhelming

Key changes:

- The chance for units in yellow alert to receive a bonus reflex action is now 40% instead of 50%
- The chance for units in green alert to receive a bonus reflex action is now 20% instead of 50%
- Units will receive a defensive action instead of an offensive action when granted one
- Reinforcements will receive a defensive action instead of an offensive action when granted one
- Advent Priests can no longer use Stasis as a bonus reflex action
- The number of enemies required to activate Down Throttling is now 6 instead of unlimited
- The number of turns required to pass before activating Up Throttling is now 3 instead of unlimited
- The distance in which any non-engaged groups will be steered away as part of the Down Throttling effects is now 25 instead of 10
- The Anti-BeagleRush Maneuver has been re-enabled (Don't leave troops out in the open)

Note: Most enemy defensive reflex actions will be used on overwatch, so it'd be a good idea to start investing in skills to counter reaction fire (Like Shadowstep & Lightning Reflexes)

@Smersh One of the jobs in Yellow Alert is Defending the Target, therefore I would presume that yes, there should be one pod that defends the objective. Makes sense from a military point of view.

Does this mod still have that annoying problem with Yellow Alert of enemies camping mission objectives?

Thanks for this mod! I feel my own game is much better balanced with these settings.

Thanks for this! Going to try this out in my next playthrough. Yellow Alert definitely feels way too overtuned as it is by default, atleast in my opinion, so tweaks that tone it down are very welcome.

I still really don’t like instant reinforcements, is it really impossible, having noticed in the distance or heard the noise of an alien ship, prepare for the landing of reinforcements?

Really appreciate this mod. The main reason I've not been running Yellow Alert (or enabling the yellow alert actions at least) is that I lack the modding know-how to change them from "any action" to "only defensive actions." The possibility of mind control from fog of war was just such high difficulty variance that I couldn't really enjoy the mod.

I felt like if I were able to handle that, then most missions were cakewalks. Inversely, if I couldn't handle that, then there was just random spike difficulty that almost invariably killed soldiers. This fixes that one major issue I had with the mod. Great work.

This is a good adjustment actually, I recon it might be even better if each group has a chance of either doing a offensive or defensive action once an encounter begins.

This sounds great. I like Yellow Alert but the reflex action could feel pretty bad sometimes. I would change the INI, but it would seem to change back to default sometimes.

Sounds good. For convenience, could you mention in the description what the default values were for the percentage/numeric changes you made?

Aside from the fact I'd set downthrottling at like 10, that's pretty well balanced I think.
