Fix for enemies being frozen on load - AI Disabled bug
By Skummeh
On some custom maps, you may note that all of the enemies appear to be frozen after you load a save or cycle to a new map. If you have subtitles enabled and look on your monitor display, you will see the phrase "A.I. Disabled" displayed perpetually at the bottom. Hence this is colloquially known as the AI Disabled bug. This guide will explain to the player how to easily resolve this issue so that you can continue enjoying the map. There are quite a few great custom maps that have this issue, so it's best to have this fix in your toolkit. For map creators running into this issue, ask on the #Help channel on the Source 2 Modding Hub Discord server: https://discord.gg/2PveN4M

Enabling the Console
Before launching the game, you first need to enable the console or you won't be able to input the fix command. Right-click Alyx in your Steam Library, go to Properties, and type the following in "Launch Options:" -console -vconsole

Now simply close that window and launch the game.
Fixing the bug - ai_setenabled 1
The bug typically occurs when loading a save game but could also happen during a map cycle. Once you get the hang of fixing it, you can do it quickly and easily.

As soon as you notice the AI is disabled, pause the game, take off your headset, press ~ on your keyboard (or whatever you have bound to open the console), type in "ai_setenabled 1" without the quotes, hit enter, put your headset back on, unpause, and you should be good to go. You can choose to exit out of the console if you like. If it happens again, just open the console and press the up key to display the last command. It will remain there in the history between playthrus so you'll likely never have to remember it again. Pressing up and down multiple times in the Command field cycles thru the history.

@mizzack Fantastic and glad it got you back on track. I had never heard of using the ai_disable 0 command but the one I use works every time.

@Skummeh thanks for posting this . The other two fixes (typing "ai_disable 0" in the console and subscribing to the temporary add on) didn't work for me when the AI froze in Dig Deep. This fix worked like a charm, however, and got me through the end of the play through. I was even able to keep my grenade launcher Lol
