Very Basics
I'm going to cover easy stuff here such as camera controls and how to build stuff.
Feel free to skip this section

Controls

WASD - Move Camera Around
Moves you around the planet system and around the planets themselves

Scroll Wheel - Zoom in and out
You can also zoom into a planet to focus on it and change to planet view
Zooming all the way out does the opposite

Clicking a Planet - Will show you the resources available

Double Clicking a planet - Will zoom you into it and change you to the planet view, zoom out to return to galaxy view

Drag Left Click - Selects space ships, you start with 1

Right Click - Will Delete buildings when you are in building mode
Right click will also command your ship to move if you have one selected
How to Colonise a planet
This is the first thing you do at the start of the game, colonise a planet.

To colonise a planet you need:
- A ship with enough resources for a space port
- Must be at an unoccupied planet

You start with most of this, all you need to do is move it to a planet, the starter ship is very small so it may be hard to find it, I would suggest zooming out all the way and drag selecting the whole map if you cant find it. Simply right click on a planet of your choice and it will move there.

I would suggest starting on a green planet, because that's what normal people do.

Once you have flown your ship to a planet, it should gain a new button in its information panel to place a Spaceport, this is the same way you can colonise planets later in the game.

Congrats! you now have a colony!
Basic Concepts
There's a couple of concepts that you should learn, these are important concepts that will make life easy for you.

Resources - There's 2 types of resources.

Global Resources - These are credits and energy, these are shared between planets
You can view these in the bottom right of the screen, hovering over the balance (very right) will show you the total credits in and out.

Physical resources - These are items from farms and mines, these are processed to keep workers happy, build new buildings or create energy etc.
These are per planet, click on a Spacesport or warehouse to view the resources for the whole planet.

Maintenance - You need to pay upkeep on your buildings and ships

Don't worry too much about this at the start of the game, you start with tons of credits so you can get your economy rolling quickly, just remember to keep an eye on how many credits you have as your maintenance can empty your account if you don't pay attention.
Your credits will go down from building (Initial cost) and the upkeep of those buildings (ongoing cost)
Your workers create credits, more workers + happier workers create more credits
Run our of this and you will no longer be able to create buildings

Workers - Credits and Progression, not required to run buildings

Workers consume food and goods, they also produce credits
Most unlocks in this game are based on the amount of workers you have, or by upgrading them to the next level.

Your workers residences will fill up more depending on how happy they are, if all needs are provided then your houses will become full of workers (they take time to fill up, just wait a couple minutes).
Once full, then you will be able to upgrade them.

There are 2 types of things happiness, one is goods, such as food and clothes, these are consumed automatically if on the same planet, no need to be connected.
The other type is what I guess you would call a service, these are special buildings that provide the happiness bonus to all connected worker residences such as city center, bar and the cinema, if all your worker residences are in one clump then you will only need one of each of these buildings.
