Description
What Is This?
This is my take on the Skirmisher class, built entirely off the shell of Proficiency Skirmishers by Shiremct. I found the incredibly action-hungry playstyle of PCP Skirmishers with the Heatsinks mechanic to be a very self-centered and greedy sort of soldier. I've attempted to zero in on that greedy, self-centered playstyle and bring them more into line with the power level of other Faction Soldiers, especially in the early and late game.

Every tree, to some degree, is a mobility and action economy tree to help out with their severe action economy drought. Tactician is the Grappling and Utility tree. Stryker is the Melee tree. Guerilla is the Mobility and Guns tree. All three trees are fairly action-economy-centric.

The class is virtually unrecognizable from vanilla, and so divorced from the Proficiency Trees in all but core class identity that I would recommend watching the video in the preview images or playing the game, but here's the text version if you want it:

The Changes:
  1. I've given the class a flat +5 aim at Squaddie with no drawback. This puts it at 20 Aim total, falling between the 25 tier of PCP Marksman and 15 tier of PCP Marines.

  2. The new random ability decks for the PCP Skirmisher are:
    Deck 1: Total Combat, Flush Em Out, Tactical Rigging, Adaptive Alloy Plating, and Impressive Strength
    Deck 2: Remote Start, Shredder, Heavy Hardpoints, Cool Under Pressure, Unbreakable

  3. Squaddie Default Abilities remain unchanged:
    Heatsink, Marauder, Ripjack Strike, and Grapple

  4. Corporal Abilities
    Explosive Action
    Combat Conditioning
    Sprint

  5. Sergeant Abilities
    Reinforced Cabling
    Hit And Run
    Phase

  6. Lieutenant Abilities
    Manual Override
    Untouchable
    Low Profile

  7. Captain Abilities
    Combat Presence
    Retribution
    Close Combat Specialist

  8. Major Abilities
    Thermal Regulators
    Rip And Tear
    Fire And Fury

  9. Colonel Abilities
    Whiplash
    Ruthless
    Death From Above
Requirements
The requirements for this mod are Hard Requirements. If you don't run those two mods, the changes I make don't get made.

That’s too bad. I want to run both, same way I run base game Ranger and Prof Assault just by turning on the config. On the Reapers, I use the mod Trainable Reapers to get base game. I was hoping to use the Trainable Skirmisher mod and train them into this class. I can’t give up the Prof Skirmisher as is - my absolute best character but I like multiple classes.

@jahsinha This is a replacement for the Proficiency Skirmisher, which is itself a replacement of the base game Skirmisher.

Thanks for the heads up. New update sorts it out. Looks like I hadn't properly cleared the old ability costs. I believe you'll need to console rebuild characters to get the change applied to pre-existing soldeirs.

I can confirm that the cost for Explosive Action is 25 AP at Corporal Rank.

Just to give you a heads-up, the ability point costs for the abilities are apparently unchanged, making it impossible to choose Explosive Action at corporal without an abnormally high combat intelligence or extra XCOM ability points. Is this intentional?
