Texas Central GP9 Pack Pt.2 (OUTDATED)

This is a pack of 10 Texas Central EMD GP9 locomotives 5 low hood and 5 Highhood, they are in TC's Firebird scheme which has served as TC's primary livery since the mid 70s.

93 of these units were originally built for Texas Central from July 1955 - April 1959, the units in this pack were rebuilt in 1974 at Texas Central's Alamo Yard Diesel shops, they received chopped noses, had dynamic brakes added, and had AC units installed in the short nose. By the end of the rebuild program Texas Central decided to cut costs and only did the bare minimum upgrades to the final rebuild batch, as a result Units 282-292 still have their highhoods intact. One final update was made to the units in 1990, which was the addition of ditchlights.

As of March 2023, TC's GP9s have been pulled from service and retired, they are stored and may be rebuilt in the future depending on power demands.
