Hardcore permadeath guide (may contain spoilers)

Permadeath hardcore guide

/// SPOILERS INSIDE ///

This is a guide for myself but perhaps others will find it somewhat useful. It will have spoilers because its a guide so it will have something helpful in it!

/// SPOILERS INSIDE ///

Starting perks and ship and traits and co-pilot

Co-pilot:

Anything goes, I find +1 acceleration guy useful, though scanning bonuses are quite helpful early on.

Traits:

Pick anything you prefer based on roleplay you will do

Perks:
Pick anything you prefer but +2tech is incredibly important for survival*

Ship:

Any ship if you prefer based on roleplay. The real power comes from weapons and gear.

/// STRATEGY level 1 - level 15 ///

The main goal is to survive.
If you got corvette or frigate i recommend getting extra gyroscopes.
One extra booster.
Some extra shields for tankyness unless you picked venghi ship in that case pick hull parts. Even +20 adds up.

Main goal is to get railguns. They are low DPS but they have great range and you can dispatch enemy ship quickly. If you facing group of enemies then being fast and tanky is preferred.

Ship graveyards are best but are very challenging.
If you picked traits that let you invaded even more than ussual then having warp device is mandatory.
The preferred strategy is to farm money by killing ships and buying parts which you later scrap for xp. Its safest option.

If you play as pirate then it will be impossible to reach ship graveyard and you will get invaded in 20sec by a group of marauders or others.

/// STRATEGY level 15 - level 25 ///

By this time you should have railguns and enogh money for corvette.
Buy and dont worry about being slow. All you have to focus is gyroscopes so you can turn fast and boost away or turn fast and kill ships.

Keep farming gold and fill your weapon slots with as many railguns as you can. You wont be able to kill level 25 enemies that are silver star or gold star but you should be able to farm other areas from now on.

Main goal is to be friendly with the factions you wish to be friendly. This is the goal because the farming is conflict zones.
You dont wish to hit your friendly faction and get negative reputation - thats why your friendly faction ships should be green.

Conflicts are best.. its challenging area especially if you are a pirate and hate venghi - it will be overwhelming because conflicts most likely be in much higher level than you. But with railguns you should secure kills. You have to remember to feel fragile like paper.

Conflict zones also allow you to see friendly faction stations (if conflict is defensive) thus you can find great gear there.

Items:
regen items or shield regen items are priority.

Ship:

Once you get onto frigate you should swap to lasers. They are constant damage that doesnt miss as much as projectiles. Keep one big railgun but have as many lasers as you can because you will be swarmed by enemies.

/// STRATEGY level 25 - endgame ///

Focus on getting tanky either by risking warping in higher sectors in hopes to find ally station where you can find better gear or farm any level sectors you enjoy until you can buy cruiser (370k ship).

At this point you should feel tanky and thus only being careful should be enough.

endgame tips: have energy cells even if you use energy to warp. In certain situation you can run out of energy and die - example cloaking can drain your energy and you can over-estimate your abilities or simply being careless.

/// summary ///

I crafted venghi dreadnaught on HC permadeath. So this guide should be somewhat valid. My curent goal is to start as a pirate and pick CoT faction because ive heard venghi has deathrays. I want to see if i can tank them. Also being pirate means everyone is your enemy except civilians.

p.s. this is my first guide so im sorry if this is not very detailed.

Why I created this guide
This is my first guide ever.. Mostly because I dont care about writting guides but second is because this game is just that good!

I hope others will find this useful!

It is not as informative as you may like but it has general strategy thus it should be enough.
