Description
The Quadriiuga is a 8x8 wheeled heavy armored personnel carrier designed with protection in mind. It can carry up to 12 infantry with firing ports. It also has hatches up top for dismounting or open top fighting. The primary means of dismounting however is with the ramp located at the rear. If the ramp motors are broken, a sprung door can be opened instead.
The only armament is a remote controlled machine gun on top. In addition to the driver and commander, vision blocks are also provided to the squad lead in order for him/her to observe the outside before disembarking. This allow dismounts to look for cover and where enemy fire is coming from before going out.

The vehicle is designed to be as cheap as possible with fairly simple systems. In times of war, Khertland determined it would take too long to ramp up production of more complex modern vehicles and decided that a simpler vehicle fit for mass production was needed. Conventional main battle tanks may take years to ramp up production. And factories for such vehicles have become so specialized it would need to be built from scratch rather than converted from automobile factories as in the past. The Quadriiuga is designed with off the shelf technology, standardized parts, and with simple and cheap components in mind. It still features modern essentials like battle management systems and stabilized weapon mount, but without most of the expensive features seen on things like IFVs.

Khertland plans on stockpiling a large fleet of Quadriiuga in order to provide sufficient vehicles in case war breaks out and mass mobilization is ordered. Mobilization would be useless if there is insufficient equipment to go around. This is primarily why it is wheeled. Conscripts are more familiar with operating wheeled vehicles, and most importantly wheeled vehicles are easier and cheaper to maintain. Despite these trade offs, it provides an otherwise light infantry force substantial mobility; turning light infantry into motorized infantry.

Indeed, Khertland's active forces also uses these, appreciating it's good frontal protection, high speed, and large dismount capacity. It might be simple but also rugged and reliable.
