Frankfurt Airport

Description
This is a 1:1 scale map (17x17 kms), centred on Frankfurt International Airport. There is extensive road and rail infrastructure, as well as over 1 Million trees and shrubs.

There are 4 flight paths.

There are a number of Oil and Ore areas and a large amount of agricultural zones.

Theme used: Not so Rocky Europe


I created this map, specifically with the Airports DLC in mind. I also picked Frankfurt for it's interesting mix of forestry, rural, river, and mixed urban setting. There are heavy industry areas, as well as small villages. It's a very diverse map.

Thanks. Even though the Skylines map size is reasonable, I do wish they were bigger sometimes. Pity your town was outside the map area, but I always make maps to an accurate scale. This was quite a complicated map though. Lots of interesting road layouts. Glad you like it.

Ah poop, i was hoping it would also include my hometown that´s right east from the airport but i guess it fell off the map :D Still looks amazing, great work pal.

I did actually take a look at the Fraport site, for the purposes of trying to work out where the underground rail lines went. I never did fully complete them either.
The best place for a layout is probably openstreepmap.org . It gets into the detail of individual buildings. I used the Terrain Party map, which is fairly basic, but I did leave the accurate spaces between the agricultural zones. Areas such as Waldorf or Kelsterbach should not be to hard to recreate, so long as you can get the right housing stock.
I would have added more roads like I did with the Corona Map, but I reached the road limit with Corona and did not want that to happen with the Frankfurt map.I'll see if I can get a more detailed overlay and put it in my Onedrive.

there are some layouts provided from FRAPORT on thier website to the Terminal 3. Any chance to upload an overlay for recreating the road layout of the cities and towns nearby?

Thanks. I noticed Terminal 3 under construction, but was not exactly sure of the completed layout for the roads and taxiways. I'll look at an update if I can get a layout. On the layout I used, the terminal was not shown.
