John Yakuza goes pooling
First of all I know there's another guide on pool in this game, but it's just needlessly complicated, so I wanted to share this really easy method instead.

Hello there fellow Yakuza completionists (my condolences, I know the pain of being one). So if you're going through the masterpiece that is Blockuza 3, you probably noticed that this specific minigame IS BROKEN BEYOND WORDS. A bit of a story time, when playing through the games I actually skipped 100%ing Blockuza 3, I just beat the game and saved the completion of the best game in the franchise for later. Then as I was playing through Yakuza 5, I quickly realized that the pool there is just as broken, so I spent literal hours looking for any bit of info from random youtube videos with less than 100 views, through reddit posts with less than 10 likes with such amazing answers as "git gud", all the way to random forum posts from websites that I don't even remember the name of. It took me going through like 13 pages of google search results until I found a forum post on some random website not even tangentially related to gaming, in which the dude said basically this:

PROPER GUIDE STARTS HERE, YOU CAN SKIP MY RAMBLINGS ABOVE:
  • Set your game to max 30fps in the game's settings,

  • Use the controller for aiming (it's easier and more precise)

  • As you're about to shoot, basically just switch to mouse to pull back and slam the ball.

  • That's literally it. For whatever reason this game only registers your mouse's vertical movement in this minigame no matter how much you slam your balls out, unlike a controller where literally a millimeter to each side can send your ball flying to another planet.

PROPER GUIDE ENDS HERE, YOU CAN SKIP MY RAMBLINGS BELOW:

So I did all that to 100% Yakuza 5, and then fast forward a few months of finishing off Yakuza 6 and 7, and we're back here and you bet your balls out the first thing I did in Blockuza 3 after going back to it was testing if this method works here as well given the same engine and sure enough, it did! (To be completely fair with you, I haven't actually tried it in Yakuza 4 since I finished it before, but given the fact that both 3 and 5 on the same engine work that way, it's safe to assume it works here as well.) As for 30fps cap, it makes the vast majority of minigames in the remastered collection easier and evades most of the wonky behavior of the physics engine trying it's best to comprehend more than 30fps which it was originally programmed for.

To be completely honest I'm not sure how such a simple fix is so unknown, so if you want you can like this guide and share it so that more people see it. Thanks in advance!

So there it is Kyodais, I hope this makes your journey of losing all of your irl friends because you've been playing the Yakuza series for the past 3 years non stop a bit easier.

you're rigth about the mouse, im now able to hit even those far away shots that require to bounce it on the other border, the fps seems to have helped as well. i had been stuck for about 3-4 hours on just advanced rotation but after using your tips i got it first try
