I want realism, but this game is arcade
First lets start from the settings:


If you have joysticks to use (I'm using 2 3dExtreem and wheel T150)


When accepting job make sure to use this option:

And now enjoy realistic work and gameplay :D

@neal121 Agreed. That's the point of having the floodlights at the job site. Oftentimes, it's preferable, particularly when doing roadwork, to be working when traffic is low - e.g. at night.

I do understand the annoyance, however, of not being able to see what you're doing because the floodlights are not placed correctly and you can't move them around. And many times, the vehicle headlights are just too bright and wash everything out, so you have to just work in the dark, which is also unrealistic and annoying.

When did construction workers not work overnights? Plenty of it around here to get roads done, roads repaired, buildings built, etc.

yes working in the night not realistic! , would be nice to skip it or go home sleep something like that.
