Introduction
Fish availability depends on the following factors:
  • Season
  • Time of day
  • Fishing Area
  • Bait

In order to fish, stand facing the water in one of the areas marked with a colored line in the map included in this guide.

1. Click on the water once
2. Choose one of the baits available using the arrows
3. Click on the water again to cast your fishing line. If no fish appear click again to retry.
4. Wait for the fish to bite
5. Wait for the exclamation mark to appear
6. Start clicking anywhere (except the progress bar) really fast, until the bar goes to zero.

You can repeat the process from step 3
Time of day
Fish come out at different times of day. You can find the time of day each fish requires in the tables that follow, or your encyclopedia. It may be tempting to do your farm chores as soon as you wake up, but there are a lot of fish that like the morning hours. Keep it in mind because the time you cast your hook determines what fish you will catch.

  • Morning: 06:00 - 10:59
  • Noon: 11:00 - 15:59
  • Evening: 16:00 - 18:59
  • Night: 19:00 - 04:59
Fishing Areas
There are 7 different fishing areas. Depending on the area different fish are available.
It is equally likely to catch a fish in any of the areas that avail it.

Fishing areas:
  • Farm: The area around your farm, or swamp (Yellow)
  • Pond: Small patches of water surrounded by land in farm or swamp (Pink)
  • Gus: The river around Gus's house (Blue)
  • Goddess: The lake below the harvest goddess (White)
  • Beach Bird: The area between the bird rock at the beach and the beach peer and also west of the beach peer. (Green)
  • South Beach Peer: The area south of the beach peer, west-side of the light house peer, and to the right of the swamp windmill (Red)
  • Middle Right Lighthouse: Standing on the light house peer facing north or south from the middle of the peer and to the right. (Purple)

Baits
You should choose your bait based on the fish you want to catch.

There are 7 different types of baits, you can learn the recipes for those by completing requests from Cyril.

In the fish table of each season you will find probability column which refers to the probability that fish will be a considered as a candidate for being fished given the bait used.

Once you cast your hook, the fish you are going to get is chosen at random from one of the candidates.

Wait Time
Watch the water for the amount of fish you see appear after you cast your hook.

Each time one of the fish swimming rotates that fish has a chance to bite depending on the bait used, that means the more fish happen to appear and the better the bait, the less time you have to wait for a fish to bite.
