How to Upload Levels to the Workshop

This guide explains how to upload custom saved levels to the Workshop for others to play. Using in-game building tools, you can create a level, save the level and upload that save file for others to play on!

Step 1: Save/Open Your Level
Starting from Scratch
  • Select a level preset from the Sandbox menu.
  • Place objects in the scene to your heart's content. Press [Tab] (default) to view the objects you can pick from, and double-click an item to add it to your hotbar.
  • Press [Esc] (default) to open the in-game menu and click the save button.
  • Type a name for your level, press [Enter] and click [Save].


Using an Existing Level
  • From the main menu, click [Sandbox] to open the sandbox level selection menu.
  • Press the [Load...] button.
  • Select the file which you want to upload. It'll open this level to play in.
Step 2: Share Your Level
  • With your level open and saved, open the in-game menu by pressing [Esc] (default).
  • Press the [Share] button.
  • In the File Select menu, select the level you wish to upload.
  • Press the [Open] button.
Step 3: Customize Your Workshop Item
Content Panel
  • No action is necessary on this panel to upload a level.
  • Optionally, you may select a custom image. Any custom image content is subject to Steam's content policies.

Details Panel
  • Select whether you want to create a new workshop level, or update an existing workshop level you previously uploaded.
  • Write a name for your level.
  • Write a description. For example, you may give instructions for players who play your level for the first time.
  • Optionally, if you're updating an existing item, you may write notes of what changed in this section.

Lastly...
  • When you're finished, press [Upload].
  • It'll show the upload in progress. Wait for the upload to complete.
  • When it is finished, it'll say "Success!" next to the [Upload] button.
  • You're done! Press [Back] to leave this menu.
