Step 1: Create/Open Your Skin

Haven't Created a Skin Yet?

If you don't have any custom skins made, you can make one using the built-in skin editor:

In the main menu, click the [Character] button on the left. A character editor dialog will open.
In this dialog, you can edit the materials for your character. You can edit albedo, normal mapping, metalness, smoothness, and emission color and intensity. Textures can also be provided for some of these properties.
When you're happy with what you've made, press the [Save...] button.
Enter a name for your new skin and press [Enter].
Press [Save...] on the bottom right.

Have a Skin Ready to Upload?

Once you have a skin ready to share, follow these steps:

In the main menu, click the [Character] button on the left. A character editor dialog will open.
When you have a character made, you'll need to be sure you've created a save file for it. Click the [Save] button on the left of the character editor dialog to do this.
In the top-left of the character editor dialog, select [Share]. A file selection window will open.
In the file selection window, select the file you wish to share on the Workshop.
Press the [Open] button at the bottom-left of the file selection window.

Step 2: Customize Your Workshop Item

Content Panel

No action is necessary on this panel to upload a skin.
Optionally, you may select a custom image. Any custom image content is subject to Steam's content policies.

Details Panel

Select whether you want to create a new workshop skin, or update an existing workshop skin you previously uploaded.
Write a name for your skin.
Write a description if you like.
Optionally, if you're updating an existing item, you may write notes of what changed in this section.

Press [Load] - it should appear in the list in the file picker. If it doesn't, try restarting.
