The year is 2230, tensions with the Solar Colonies and NASA HQ are at an all time high, MARS7, 8 and 9 have seen half their population die of starvation, Earth stopped delivering food 6 months ago and now their food growth has just caught up with the population, they begin prospering, and when the EDF (Earth Defense Force) begins exporting MARS9 food to other planets, MARS9 becomes the first interplanetary force to declare independence from Earth.



-2232, St. Petersburg - NUSSR
MARS9 (Republic of Mars) deploys 2,500 10-man infantry dropships above the NUSSR city of St. Petersburg and once the ships are detected by space stations nearby, the EDF and KGB are both alerted and make it to the city within the hour. Once the MARS9 Forces land on the city, their energy weapons are more powerful than Earth's energy rifles of the 2100s. And ballistic weapons are ineffective against MARS9 Kinetic Armour.

-2232, Tallinn - NUSSR (Formerly Estonia)
MARS9 swept through the north-western NUSSR and began to ransack many cities in the Baltic States, the capitol of former Estonia, Tallinn has been taken by MARS9 special forces and was transformed into a military hub for MARS9 air, land and sea forces. Where they could spread to Scandinavia and the rest of the western NUSSR.

-2233, Kaliningrad - Poland (Formerly part of Russia)
MARS9 confronted the EDF and Polish armies in the Polish city of Kaliningrad, their energy weapons were now overcharged and Kinetic armour was useless against the KL-3 energy rifle's argon casings. MARS9 forces had lost their technological advantage and against the EDF's advanced training of MARSOC-SAS and Spetsnaz simulations made them win the battle for Kaliningrad and forces were pushed back to Klaipeda, NUSSR Lithuania.



-2234, ESA Space Station - Low Earth Orbit above the South Atlantic Ocean
A MARS9 Orbital Cruiser meets up with an ESA Space Station holding vital battle plans and technological secrets which, in the wrong hands, could turn the tide of the First Solar War.
They board, but EDF soldiers are already waiting on the space station and both sided opened fire on eachother. It was a bloody battle, but one fragmentation grenade caused a puncture in the hull of the station, pulling most of the EDF out of the ship but one of the EDF soldiers pointed the stations RCS systems into the South Atlantic Ocean to stop the MARS9 soldiers downloading and sending all the information on the ship. Once the station entered the atmosphere, the flames spread through the remaining parts of the ship which had oxygen and everyone stationed on the ship, died either in space, or in the ocean.
