Sound "Retcon"

Description
When Half-Life 2 released, some of the most iconic sounds and music tracks from Half-Life 1 were reused for the game, the same thing also happened when Half-Life Alyx released.
This mod adds back some of these sound effects that I thought deserved to be in Black Mesa, plus some other things to make it fit better with the rest of the series.

This includes:
  • Some button sounds
  • Some music tracks
  • Item sounds
  • Player sounds
  • The hev vox
  • Some other cool stuff

Can you include VOX in this retcon?

I don't know why you did this, but I feel some of the musical changes kinda take away from the experience. Would it be possible to make a version without those changes? I still do like and prefer the mods sound effects wise, but I prefer Black Mesa's music choices in certain parts.

And, if I were to suggest some music changes (apart from restoring the opening track for Xen, since I think it takes away from the awe that the vista is trying to present, and without it just feels incomplete and somewhat dull), I would add the track "Vague Voices" for the train ride, with (maybe) some of Black Mesa's music springled in for the sections after the train descends to see the outside for the first time (I'm referring to the part where some mods have put a Breen stand in looking out the window).

Can you update more noises to sound like the GoldSrc days?

(One thing I would appreciate is the door sounds)

Like I think it'd be cool to be able to select specific sounds you want replaced, maybe make like separate mods for specific sound replacers, and then for people that want all of them but don't want to go through the process of downloading them all keep this one up

can you give some examples? I'll look into updating some of my stuff once I'm not burnt out of bm modding

Honestly this is really cool but I wish there was a modular version, as there's some replacements that I really like, and some where I prefer Black Mesa's version of things

Does this replace the announcement system? Thanks!

oh okay

they were intentional, for those cases I thought the music was either out of place or the level ambience alone was enough to set the vibe.
