Halt, Pilgrim - sit a while and tell me your tale.

You make the most perilous journey for forgiveness that a person can make. The canyon floor is littered with the water-scum encrusted bones of all of those who could not work their way across the Steps of Sorrow.

If you make it, well...then your penance begins. The Sanctuary will not ask questions, but you must be prepared to ask them of yourself. You will live in poverty and silence until you have been Delivered from your sins. The regime is harsh, and not everybody leaves once they have stepped through the mighty gateway of the Sanctuary of Sorrow.

The Brothers and High Priest will guide you. They will feed you. They will punish you. Go well on your journey, Pilgrim.

What secret door? Treasures guarded by the mummified First Brothers? I don't know what you've heard, Pilgrim, but you mustn't let anyone else hear you talk of such things.
